- Isaiah prophesied that within a few years, the kingdoms of Israel and Syria would no longer exist, which came true when Syria fell to Assyria and Israel was conquered by Assyria.
- Ahaz, the king of Judah, disobeyed God by forming an alliance with Assyria and worshipping their gods. As a result, God used Assyria to destroy parts of Judah as well.
- Isaiah was told by God to name his son as a sign that Assyria would conquer surrounding lands, which came to pass. Though Assyria destroyed much of Judah, God spared the remnant who remained faithful to Him.

The document discusses an upcoming men's fellowship meeting and church dinner, as well as passages from the Bible book of Joshua. It encourages believers to possess the spiritual promises God has given them, such as abundant life, by walking with God and resisting Satan's tricks through God's power. Believers are promised victory over enemies if they remain strong, courageous, and obedient to God's word.
What challenge did the nation of Israel encounter in Joshua 1:1? If you were Joshua how would you have felt? Why do you think God told him, “be strong and of good courage”? How does our definition of success influence or affect our lives? How would you define success? How does the world view success? How did the Lord use the word “success” in Joshua 1:6-9? Name 3 examples of those who are successful in the Bible and 3 who were not. What made the difference in their lives? Name the 3 commands God gave to Joshua in verses 6-9. Which command did he repeat? How many times? Why? Why does it take courage to obey the word of God? These and other questions are addressed in this study in Joshua 1.
This document discusses the different parts that make up a human - spirit, soul, and body. It provides biblical references to show how the spirit can contact and receive God, and how it contains God's grace. It discusses how the soul can express and reflect God through the mind, will, and emotions. The body is presented as a sacrifice to God and used for existence and reasonable service. The document concludes by announcing the topic of the next session and inviting attendees to speak words of divine destiny over their own lives.

The document discusses overcoming fear through having a close relationship with God. It encourages enlarging one's vision, strengthening resolve, and not being afraid as God will be with believers. It highlights how Joshua overcame fear by learning from Moses' example of walking closely with God. It emphasizes choosing God over the world by having faith in Him through prayer, God's word, and making Him the priority in decisions. Sin creates fear but confessing and repenting restores fellowship with God.
King Uzziah's pride led to him being struck with leprosy, leaving his son Jotham to share the reign. Isaiah was called to prophesy during this crisis. God renewed Isaiah's call with a vision of His holiness while in the temple. Isaiah saw God on His throne with fiery seraphim praising His holiness. Isaiah was condemned but his sins were purged when a seraph touched his lips with a burning coal from the altar. When God asked who would prophesy for Him, Isaiah volunteered, saying "Here am I, send me." The vision strengthened Isaiah's faith to fulfill his mission despite opposition.
The document discusses biblical figures who operated in the spirit of might, including Samson, David, and Jesus. It provides several examples from the Old and New Testaments of these figures' mighty acts performed through the spirit of God working through them: Samson tore a lion with his hands and killed 1000 men with a donkey's jawbone. David killed a lion and bear with his hands as a shepherd and defeated Goliath. Jesus performed many miracles that confounded his enemies and had power over nature, demons, disease, and death. The document emphasizes that true might and power comes from God's spirit, not physical strength.
Nephi includes the words of Isaiah in the Book of Mormon to give hope and comfort to his people, who saw themselves as a branch broken off from Jerusalem. Isaiah prophesied about Christ and the restoration of the gospel. Nephi writes Isaiah's words to prove to his people the truth of Christ's coming and so that in the last days they will understand and find value in them. He wants his words and Isaiah's words to lift up their hearts and help them in their exiled state.
The document discusses overcoming fear through having a close relationship with God. It encourages enlarging one's vision, strengthening resolve, and not being afraid as God will be with believers. It suggests communicating with God daily through prayer, worship, and reading the Bible. Choosing God over the world and having faith, not fear, are keys to pleasing God and receiving his promises. Hidden sins can damage relationships with God and create fear, so confession and repentance are important.
This document discusses perspectives on the identity of Jesus Christ. It presents quotes and passages that declare Jesus as the Son of God, Messiah, Savior, and more. It encourages believers to have faith in who Jesus is, expect to see great things from God, live with anticipation of heaven, and keep hope alive in difficult times by focusing on God. The overall message is about affirming one's belief in Jesus and finding strength and hope in him.
The document discusses the characteristics of true friendship through examples from the Bible. It provides several examples of Jesus forgiving people and being friends with them, despite their sins. True friends will forgive mistakes, can relate to each other, introduce people to Christ through their lives, extend help to those in need, and will never abandon each other. Friends can depend on each other and should forgive each other seventy-seven times.
7th June 2016 - The old testament prophecies about Jesus ChristThorn Group Pvt Ltd
The document discusses Old Testament prophecies about Jesus Christ. It provides examples from scripture that foretold Jesus's birth, ministry, death, and crucifixion. Key prophecies mentioned include Isaiah 7:14 predicting the virgin birth, Isaiah 53 foreseeing Jesus bearing mankind's sins, and Zechariah 12 describing him being pierced. The document asserts that the Old Testament clearly prophesied Jesus as the Messiah and revealed many details about him to prove he fulfilled these prophecies.
People will say, "why does God even allow us to disobey him in the first place? Wouldn’t the world be so much better if he didn’t?" But at the same time, it is an opportunity for him to show His redemptive power, which is more than He could have done if we never needed to be rescued in the first place.
The Book of Judges describes a cycle in which the Israelites would sin and turn away from God, leading to oppression by neighboring groups. God would then raise up judges to deliver the Israelites from their oppressors and lead them back to righteousness. This cycle reflected the Israelites' struggle between faithfulness and backsliding. The first judge was from the tribe of Judah, reflecting that God dwells in praise and the Israelites needed to praise God to enjoy his presence and see him move on their behalf.
The Corona virus pandemic has so much taken the center stage in the media that people do not remember the name of Jesus. They have forgotten the power in his name: to save, to heal, to deliver, to mend, to create and raise the dead. His name is ABOVE all names. Apply his name to that situation TODAY. He is at the CENTER of all these to give us VICTORY. This sermon was delivered to a live audience on ZOOM.To join the Church from any where in the world send a request to the host: pejuoti2017@gmail.com or call +234 805 612 9314. God sees all things perfectly with his divine vision. Isaiah had a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels calling him holy. This vision led Isaiah to feel condemned but also to volunteer to serve God. Jesus referred to this story as a way to explain that some will see but not perceive the kingdom of God. Other passages discuss looking to God for protection, looking to Jesus to lift us up, looking within to check our spiritual well-being, and looking to serve others rather than just ourselves. Maintaining a godly vision of the future is important for persevering, as is keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Silent night - The Nativity of Jesus Christqnapivan
This document summarizes key events from the birth of Jesus to the early establishment of Christianity according to the Bible. It describes Jesus's miraculous birth to a virgin, his teachings and miracles, crucifixion, resurrection, the coming of the Holy Spirit, conversion of Saul to Paul, and the spread of the gospel message through the early disciples and churches. The overarching message is that Jesus came to save humanity and offer eternal life through his death and resurrection, as foretold in the Old Testament prophecies.
The Ethiopian Eunuch’s conversion provides (for this lesson) three very important lessons: the importance of prophecy, understanding the scriptures, baptism. This lesson explores the first of these.
The document discusses identity and how humanity's identity was lost through sin but restored through Jesus Christ. It asserts that true identity comes from God, not from personal achievements, possessions or past wrongs. Jesus fulfilled all righteousness and through his death and resurrection reconciled humanity to God, restoring our lost identity and bringing his peace.
Joseph was thrown into a well by his brothers and sold into slavery, ending up as a servant in the household of the chief minister of Egypt. The minister's wife, Zulaikha, fell in love with Joseph but he refused her advances due to his faith. In retaliation, she falsely accused him of assaulting her. Joseph was then sent to prison by the chief minister to protect his wife's honor, despite Joseph's innocence. The document outlines these key events in Joseph's story based on details from the Quranic chapter 12.
1. The document is a song that praises Jesus Christ as the wonderful, merciful savior who rescues souls and brings hope.
2. It references several Bible verses describing Jesus's role as redeemer, lamb of God, and source of wisdom, grace, and healing.
3. The last part of the document advertises an online seminar by David Asscherick about understanding Bible prophecy.
I. The document discusses the power of prayer, giving examples from the Bible where prayer changed, corrected, and comforted lives. It encourages developing a regular prayer life and praying for the lost, missionaries, ministers, and enemies.
II. Specific examples are given of how Cornelius' prayers led Peter to teach him the gospel, and how Paul prayed for Israel to understand truth. The document asserts prayer has power to bring people to God and correct one's direction when sinful.
III. Readers are encouraged to turn to prayer, not other things, for comfort, as it acknowledges one's need for God. In conclusion, the document hopes readers will become "prayer warriors" and know others are

This talk explains the first two petals of TULIP and focuses on the question: do I choose God or does God choose me? These distinctions form the basis of Reformed Theology.
Jesus taught his disciples how to pray using what is known as the Lord's Prayer. He instructed them to pray privately to God as their Father in heaven, focusing on hallowing God's name, desiring God's kingdom and will to be done, asking for daily provision and forgiveness as we forgive others, and requesting deliverance from temptation and evil. Jesus emphasized humble, sincere prayer over repetitive, empty words.
The document contains several passages from the New Testament that conclude with doxologies praising God. It then examines the key elements contained in these doxologies, including that praise is given to God who is able to keep believers from falling and present them faultlessly before Him now and forever. The document explores terms used in the doxologies like glory, majesty, dominion, and power and their meanings. It emphasizes that this praise is eternally due to God for His ability and promise to keep believers secure.
The document discusses the person and work of the Holy Spirit according to scripture. It describes the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity, who is eternal, omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. The Holy Spirit works in believers to empower them, enable righteousness and fruit of the spirit, and give gifts to serve God and witness to others. Speaking in tongues is mentioned as a potential gift from being filled with the Holy Spirit.
WISDOM IS POWER: In your Getting, Get UnderstandingDestinyCabuyao
God blesses those who obey Him and bring their full tithes into His storehouse. God promises to "throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it" for those who honor Him with their tithes and offerings. However, some speak arrogantly against God and claim it is futile to serve Him. The document discusses the spiritual blessings believers have been given through Christ, including redemption, forgiveness, wisdom and understanding from God. It encourages gaining wisdom and understanding from God rather than mocking knowledge.
Stephen gives a speech before the Sanhedrin in which he recounts Jewish history and defends himself against accusations of blasphemy. He describes how God spoke to Moses and how the Israelites rejected prophets like Moses and Jesus. Stephen's accusers are enraged by his message, and they drag him out of the city and stone him to death while he prays for forgiveness.
The document provides a collection of Bible verses that describe who believers are and what they can do through Christ. The verses affirm that believers have life, the mind of Christ, authority over the enemy, and healing. They can do greater works than Jesus, proclaim God's praises, be transformed by renewing their mind, follow Jesus, cast out demons, and lay hands on the sick. Believers are called to put on armor, love one another, rejoice, be anxious for nothing, meditate on noble things, and let the word of Christ dwell in them richly.
God is my deliverer..pptx dvsdvsvsdvsvsdvasdvJoHn2467
This document discusses God as the deliverer of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. It references Exodus 6:6-8 where God promises Moses to free the Israelites and bring them to the land promised to Abraham. The document discusses themes of reliance on God despite circumstances, responding in times of need with faith instead of doubt, and the need for repentance to fully appreciate the freedom God provides from mental slavery.
Joshua is appointed as the new leader of Israel to replace Moses and lead the people into the Promised Land. God promises Joshua that he will always be with him and help him, just as he helped Moses, and that wherever Joshua goes he will give them the land. God commands Joshua to be strong, brave, and to not be afraid, as God will be with him. Joshua instructs the people to prepare food for the journey into the land that God is giving them.
The Secet of Finding Comfort - by Sam WardSam Ward
The document discusses seven sources of comfort for those who feel overwhelmed, defeated, unloved, or alone. These sources are: 1) Our Gracious Father, who comforts those who seek Him; 2) Our Loving Jesus, who gives rest and peace; 3) Our Holy Spirit, who is a continual presence; 4) Our Holy Bible, which provides examples and promises of God's faithfulness; 5) Our Devoted Teachers, who preach God's word; 6) Our Precious Assembly (the church), where we encourage one another; 7) Our Promised Future, which includes resurrection and eternal life with God. Each source is explained in one or two sentences.
The document discusses the importance of prayer based on biblical passages. It encourages praying persistently like the widow in Luke, using the Lord's Prayer as a model, and praying in faith that God exists, hears prayers, and answers them. Specific types of prayer discussed are intercessory prayer for others and trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes perfectly for believers when they don't know what to pray for. The overall message is to make prayer a regular practice.
BLC Sermon - Who do you say I am? - 20110815 Leigh Wong
Jesus asks his disciples who people say he is and they respond with various prophets. He then asks who they say he is. Simon Peter responds by saying "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Jesus confirms that Peter's response came from divine revelation, not human teaching, establishing his identity as the Messiah and Son of God sent by God the Father.

This document provides background information on Jonah and the sailors and Ninevites mentioned in the Book of Jonah. It discusses how Jonah was from a godly family, had a relationship with God, and was called to be a prophet and go to Nineveh. However, Jonah was reluctant and barely obeyed God. The sailors feared God after their ordeal with the storm at sea. The Ninevites believed Jonah's message, fasted, and humbled themselves in repentance. The document suggests we should emulate humility and ensure our preferences do not override God's mission for our lives.
Better off Now: Experiencing God's Power in Everyday LifeVintage Church
The document discusses what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit based on passages from the Bible. It describes how the disciples were initially filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered on the day of Pentecost. It also discusses how believers can experience an ongoing filling through obeying God, asking for the Holy Spirit, and having faith. The results of being filled include encouraging others, having songs of praise, being grateful, serving, understanding family relationships, and more.
The passage discusses the importance and power of truth in the spiritual life. It outlines four key consequences of embracing and living in truth:
1. Salvation - By believing the truth, we are saved.
2. Spiritual Growth - By speaking and hearing the truth, we will grow spiritually.
3. Sanctification - By living the truth, we will be able to live holy lives.
4. Shining Proclamation - By proclaiming the truth, we defeat the darkness.
The document discusses how God works in the world through three perspectives: direct control, that he is only concerned with the spiritual, and that he is absent. It references passages from Isaiah about God empowering Cyrus the Great to conquer mighty kings and level mountains to clear a path. God calls Cyrus to do this work for the sake of Israel, God's chosen people. The document asks rhetorical questions about whether we can question or argue with God, the creator, about his plans and works.
Fearing God means remembering who God is as an all-powerful and loving creator, and living in a way that honors his commands and brings blessings. Those who fear God will enjoy prosperity, a fruitful family, and peace through trusting in God rather than living in fear of other things. Fearing God involves both remembering his character and allowing that to impact how one lives each day in obedience to him.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

to explore the land of Canaan, which I am
giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral
tribe send one of its leaders.’
Numbers 13:1
6. If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into
that land, a land flowing with milk and honey,
and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against
the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of
the land, because we will devour them. Their
protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do
not be afraid of them.’
Numbers 14:8-9
10. Do not be anxious about anything, but in
every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to
God. And the peace of God, which
transcends all understanding, will guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
