R E P O R TR E P O R TA COMMUNITY OF CHRISTIANS DEVOTED TO NURTURING LOVE FOR GOD, LOVE FOR SELF,
AND LOVE FOR OTHERS. MATTHEW 22:34-40.
2. FROM PASTOR STEVE...
Dear HCC Family,
An annual report is a snap shot of the health and well-being of the
church from an economic stand point. The content of this annual
report is important and informs us with respect to the tangible data
it addresses. However, we know that the church is not data and
numbers; the church is people in relationship with Jehovah the God
of the Bible and universe. This means that much of what the church is
cannot be measured, only sensed, and then much of that is so dynamic and
mysterious that we can’t even put into words the work of God in the hearts and minds of people.
Yet in spite of the majority of intangibles that cannot be quantified and measured regarding
God’s church, this annual report gives us a glimpse as to where we are as a church family in
economic terms. Please review it as if it was an investment prospectus of sorts.Â
I will do the same. Looking at it this way I will wonder about how I can manage better and you
look at how you can contribute. It takes both of us and the presiding Holy Spirit to see
the return that God desires.
Don’t hesitate to question the data. If you have questions of principle or leadership, don’t
flinch at contacting me for a conversation on the matter(s). If it is a question of data detail,
please contact Goldie Morrow. Her information is on the back of this report and she will
gladly entertain your inquiry.
With that said I know God is using the strong economic times and the weak economic
times to form us. He is for Heritage Community Church!
I love you, may the peace of God rule your heart and mind,
Pastor Steve

4. "...And God will generously provide all you need.
Then you will always have everything you need
and plenty left over to share with others. As the
Scriptures say, "Godly people give generously to
the poor. Their good deeds will never be
forgotten."Â For God is the one who gives seed to
the farmer and then bread to eat.
In the same way, he will give you many
opportunities to do good, and he will produce a
great harvest of generosity in you."

5. EXPENSES IN 2016
Total expenses for 2016 were $1,811,338.44. Â This exceeded our income. Â
This increase was a direct result of unanticipated major repairs that had to be fixed in the
Ministry Center costing $54,000. This was paid using savings and surplus from the end of
year giving.
Our current debt paid out for the year to the Mortgage note was $275,514.52. Â Â

MINISTRY PROGRAM
83%
Ministry program encompasses all expenses
that allow us to perform ministry. Â
It is all the expenses that allow us to present
a church that glorifies God. Â
All parts of the ministry work together to
accomplish one goal: Ministry. Â
It is all about Ministry!
6. OUR MANDATE Â || TO Â INCREASINGLY BECOME THE
SOCIAL CENTER OF GOD'S KINDNESS.
We have several programs currently thriving at HCC. Â $152,140 was given in 2016 towards
ministry programs. Plus physical donations and hours of work were given to help those in
need at home, nursing homes and so much more.Â
On Saturday, April 30th, 2016 we hosted an annual
charity 5K race to raise awareness of human Â
trafficking in the U.S. All money raised went
directly to the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children and No Persons Left Behind.Â
There was a total of $27,000 given to the Benevolence
Fund that went to support 25 Heritage families during
2016. We helped with transportation repair,
counseling, funeral expenses, house payments,
recovery services, and BGE assistance. Â Â
7. This partnership provides
weekend food for
29 children at local
elementary schools. Â Â
On average 345 people/families visited and sign-in to
the Bread Pantry each month, taking home food to feed
their families.
We fed 14,615 people thanks to the
Ministry of the Bread Pantry in 2016.
THE EDGES OF OUR FIELDS -“WHEN YOU HARVEST THE CROPS OF YOUR LAND, DO NOT
HARVEST THE GRAIN ALONG THE EDGES OF YOUR FIELDS; LEAVE IT FOR THE POOR
AND THE FOREIGNERS LIVING AMONG YOU. I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD.”Â
- LEVITICUS 23:22
8. January 2017 we began the Freedom Seed Campaign.
This campaign will allow us to subdivide our unused
land with the goal of paying off our mortgage debt. Â
From January through April we have raised a little over
$50,000. Our total goal is $250,000 by the year end. Â
With 33% of the year gone, we are currently 20% raised. Â
Our current income is 8% below our need to meet our
income budget of $1,852,800 with additional repairs on
the horizon.
Thank you for your continued generosity!
