Brighton is a seaside city in Sussex, England located approximately 45 minutes south of London. It offers many attractions including the exotic Royal Pavilion palace, originally built for the Prince Regent that was later sold to the city in 1850. Brighton also has a history of being an important city for the women's suffrage movement as it was home to one of the most active regional branches of the Women's Social & Political Union that regularly protested political meetings in the city.
