This document summarizes three studies on older adults' use of and attitudes towards technology. Study 1 surveyed older adults and found they use entertainment technologies like TV for companionship and are open to learning information and communication technologies to stay connected. Study 2 used a simulated home environment to understand design for older users. Study 3 instrumented smart homes with sensors to monitor older adult residents and analyze health indicators and predict cognitive decline to inform independent living. The document discusses the potential for technology to improve quality of life and health for older adults.
