Course 021 – Horse Box Safety Training & Techniques

Training Outcomes:
· The purpose of this programme is to address safe handling of a vehicle and horsebox
combination.
· The driver will learn techniques such as handeling the horsebox in confined spaces,
reversing, parking and securing the horsebox safely.
· Safety techniques will be shown to the driver, in avoiding possible jack knife situations, loss
of control, and how to manage the high centre of gravity of the horseboxes moving load.
· How to make sure that your horses are kept safe and injury free when driving
· Defensive and safety driving principles will also be shown to the driver to continuously be
aware of the surroundings, and how to apply appropriate defensive driving techniques to
avoid a potential incident or accident.
· An accredited training program of 4 days can also be done, which complies to the Unit
