This document summarizes an investigation into stabilizing an expansive soil with the chemical stabilizers RBI-81 and lime. Laboratory tests were conducted on soil mixtures with varying percentages of RBI-81 (2-6%) cured over 7, 14, and 28 days. Results showed increases in unconfined compressive strength and CBR with higher RBI-81 percentages and longer curing, but tensile strength and CBR remained low. Lime was then added after determining the initial lime consumption, as RBI-81 alone did not meet strength requirements. Tests on soil-RBI-lime mixtures showed significant increases in compressive strength, tensile strength, and CBR compared to soil-RBI mixtures. The

Business case for rural broadband in NYS (Albany, Columbia & Greene counties)Rich Frank
The document discusses making a business case for expanding rural broadband access in New York State. It notes that building fiber networks along rural paths can offset costs by targeting dense populations areas, and that a broadband service could appeal to 30% of households along planned routes. Income levels should be considered when determining monthly subscription prices. The document also recommends looking at "low hanging fruit" like businesses located within 500 feet or 1000 feet of proposed fiber routes in certain counties.

Discharge and Sediment Transport Modeling Buck Creek ProposalJames Blumenschein
This document proposes modeling discharge and sediment transport in Buck Creek before modifications to a recreational structure. The purpose is to create a stage-discharge rating curve upstream of the structure. Field data on discharge and cross-sectional surveys will be collected using GPS and acoustic Doppler equipment. The HEC-RAS model will be used to extend the existing post-modification rating curve to higher discharges using a step-backwater method. The objectives are to establish elevations, collect survey and field data, create a stage-discharge curve, and better understand changes from the modified structure.

This paper reviews load forecasting using a neuro-fuzzy system. It discusses how neural networks and fuzzy logic can be combined in a neuro-fuzzy system to improve load forecasting accuracy. The paper first provides background on load forecasting and different techniques used. It then proposes using a neuro-fuzzy approach where load data is classified with fuzzy sets and a neural network is trained on each classification to forecast loads. Combining the learning ability of neural networks with the symbolic reasoning of fuzzy logic in a neuro-fuzzy system can potentially provide more accurate short-term load forecasts. The paper concludes that neuro-fuzzy systems show advantages over other statistical and AI methods for load forecasting.
This document examines concrete made from ordinary Portland cement blended with bamboo leaf ash and pulverized burnt clay waste. 100mm concrete cubes were cast with 10 different mix proportions and cured for up to 120 days. Incorporating bamboo leaf ash and burnt clay waste made the concrete stickier, stiffer and less workable, with bamboo leaf ash having a greater influence. Early compressive strengths decreased with higher blended proportions but surpassed the control strengths at later ages. Binders with 90% OPC and 10% burnt clay waste; 90% OPC and 10% bamboo leaf ash; or 80% OPC, 10% burnt clay waste and 10% bamboo leaf ash performed optimally.
The document summarizes a proposed system called Traffic Pattern Discovery System (TPDS) that uses a heuristic approach called best-first search to trace the traffic pattern of adversaries in a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET). The system performs statistical traffic analysis on the path traced by best-first search to deduce source-destination and traffic matrices. It then uses probability distribution to calculate the likelihood of each node being the source or destination. The implementation is carried out using the Network Simulator 2 (NS2) and the analysis shows the system can identify approximate source and destination nodes to trace traffic patterns without the adversary's knowledge.
This document analyzes the causes of delay in the construction of bridge girders for three spans of a major bridge across the Sabarmati River in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. Data was collected on the planned versus actual construction schedules. The total delay was found to be 75 days, with various activities like staging work, shuttering work, and reinforcement fixing experiencing delays. Major causes of delay included insufficient equipment capacity, lack of materials and skilled labor, delays in design drawings, poor site management, and labor issues. The contractor was found to be primarily responsible for these delays through inadequate site planning, labor inefficiencies, and lack of supervision and expertise.

Overview of Presentation
The Fourth Industrial Revolution (also known as Industry 4.0) is here, and it's changing everything. The advent of cloud computing and the unprecedented availability of information is shaping a business climate that rewards innovation and agility. This shift has the potential for enormous impact on businesses and, consequently, on their brands.
This Digital Revolution has changed the business landscape significantly, transforming the ways in which brands reach out to consumers and how consumers interact with brands. Being present on digital channels has thus become necessary for brands to continue engaging with their customers effectively.
The integration of digital and physical technologies heralds the imminent arrival of a new digital revolution. For brands – especially those still struggling to get to grips with data – capitalizing on the opportunities created by the new ‘Industry 4.0’ could be daunting. Yet all can benefit by self-optimizing for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead today. From artificial intelligence and analytics to robotics, connected cities to smart homes and the internet of things, key components of Industry 4.0 are being powered by data. So the first thing organizations must do is adjust their mindset.
The primary challenge for businesses today is to navigate the increasingly connected world and changing consumer landscape to reach more customers, more effectively. Today's customers have less time and attention to devote to your brand—and they are surrounded by alternatives every step of the way. You need to stand up, get their attention, and deliver the message they want to hear.
This presentation examines the marketplace's shifting power dynamics, the paradoxes wrought by connectivity that will shape today’s and tomorrow's consumer. We will also discuss the challenges and strategies in driving brand success in today’s digital-driven market place.

‘Understanding the
value of brand
leadership’.
Brands are some of the most valuable assets that
companies and other organisations possess and
exceptional leadership is also required to deliver
maximum returns to the business.
The best leaders command powerful personal
brands, the value of which can rise and fall with the
success of the organisations they steward.
This makes the 2016 Brand Finance Forum essential
for leaders, those aspiring to leadership positions
and marketers and brand practitioners from all
industries.
