Boredom is a common feeling. Feeling unsatisfied by an activity, or
uninterested in it, can lead to boredom. Boredom may occur when
we feel energetic but have nowhere to direct our energy. It may also
occur when we have difficulty focusing on a task or we don’t have
the time.
Boredom is a common complaint among children and adolescents.
In some cases, they may complain of boredom when they’re
uncomfortable dealing with their thoughts or feelings.
Some Reasons for Boredom
Monotony in the Mind
Loss of Interest
Lack of Flow
Poor perception of time
Need for Novelty
Lack of Attention
Repetition of the activity for too much time
Feeling unable to try new approaches to the activity
Joining a club can be a good way to thwart your boredom.

boredom may lead to health issues that can then
reduce our life span.

How is boredom diagnosed?
Boredom is a normal response to some
situations, and while there are no tests to
diagnose boredom, boredom that lasts for longer
periods of time or occur frequently, may be a
sign of depression.
“ Use your imagination! ”
It’s a phrase repeated the world over by parents with
bored kids. While brain engaging activities are
extremely beneficial to a child’s development, so is a
bit of boredom.
One study found that boredom in adults may indeed
inspire us to think outside the box. Study participants
were given boring tasks, and afterward, it helped
boost both productivity and creativity.
Boredom gives children time and reason to be creative
and come up with their own ideas. When children
have self-led free time, they actually get a chance
to use their imagination.
Sometimes Boredom actually sparks
creativity
