Summary:
In the high mountain of Negros Occidental lives a very young girl named
Rona Mahilom.
In the school, teacher spoke well of Rona. One day, her parents went to
the next village which was for from their house.
Late in the evening, as the children were fast asleep inside their wooden
hut, a cat over turned the oil lamp and it caught fire.
Rona saved her five brothers and sisters. After saving her sisters and
brothers, Rona grabbed a plastic pail and ran to the nearby stream to fetch
water and returned to the burning house to put off the flame she said this
several times until she finally collapsed because of tiredness. When she woke
up, Rona was in the Hospital receiving treatment for her burns. Her bravery
made her very popular. The Mayor of Manila, Alfredo Lim, gave her one million
pesos. Rona’s future looks bright and her dream to become a teacher someday
will surely come true.
Plot:
Late in the evening, as the children were fast asleep inside their wooden
hut, a cat over turned the oil lamp and it caught fire. The blazing oil spilled
into Rona’s bed and splattered the floor. Rona jumped up when her shoulder –
length hair got on fire. The fire caught her clothes. She was about to run
outside the door when she saw her brothers and sisters still sleeping. And she
saved her brothers and sisters as fast as she could.
Moral Lesson:
If you want them to make good things on you, make good things on them
first.
2. Title: The Legend of Banana
Author: Edwin L. Tiongson
Characters: Ban, Ana and the King
Setting: In a Nipa Hut
Summary:
Once there was a prince who lived in the sky.
Ban and Ana fell in love with each other.
The prince in an other rush went down to earth and disguised himself as
one of the villagers. Ban was informed that the King, his dear father was very ill
and was asking for his return. Ana greatly refused to let him go that she held
fast to his hands in Ana’s grasp.
Later than year, an unknown plant grew near the hut. It has a fruit
shaped like fingers. And so, this is how the fruit name to be from the name of
lovers Ban and Ana.
Plot:
Ban disappeared leaving his hands behind in Ana’s grasp.
Moral Lesson:
Love can’t wait any longer.
3. Title: In the Beggining

Setting: Earth
Summary:
Long before, the only inhabitants of the earth were the sky and the Sea.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a great colorful bird appeared that flew between the
vast sky and the boundless sea. The bird kept flying and soon got tired. It
reached for a place to land but there was none. The bird made a plan. The bird
created a word of war between the sea and sky of which of the two was the
strongest. The sky got angry and proved his strength. It threw thunderbolts at
the sea. In an instant, the sea sent huge waves against the sky. The war lasted
for a long time.
However, the sky felt that it was losing in the war and asked help from
the great bird. So the bird dove into the deep water of the sea and got big
pieces of rocks from the ocean floor. The bird gave there pieces of earth up to
the sky, and then flung this down on the ranging sea. The sea quelled. And
thus, the Philippine archipelago was born. At last, the great bird was able to
find a place to rest in one of these islands.
Plot:
The bird flew between the sky and the sea.
The bird flew and frew and got tired.
The bird made the sea and sky fight
The sky threw thunderbolts at the sea
