Synopsis
 To study the history of artist.
 To study the use of bone in art and craft industry.
 To study the structure of organization involved in bone craft.
 To their production cost and income of workers dedicated for this
organization.
 To study the environment and climate of the bone craft site
 To do a detailed research which involves their history, analysis and
output.
Mr. Zakir Husain
 Mr Zakir Hussain previously run a business of trading of
handicrafts. He started it in 1986.
 He suffered a huge loss in 1994 in this due to which he got
bankrupt
completely.
 Then in 1996, he
started with his
artwork of bone
craft of which he
gained knowledge
since his childhood.
 He used to work for
20 hours a day.
 He involved his
family i.e his sons
and some of his
relatives in his work
Mr. Zakir Husain
and in today’s date he is recognized as one of the best craftsmen
of bonecraft and is honoured with a no. of awards and is still
flourishing his work.
INTRODUCTION
 This artwork craft is run under Zakir Hussain since 1986. It
is located in a residential area of Bakra Mandi.
 The fair required to reach there is Rs. 40 (50 km).
 Basically, they make articles from bones of dead camels,
buffalo horn is also included in that. It is a small scale
industry residing n Jodhpur.
 The articles made from bone includes cars, trains,
jewelleries, boxes, with integrate along with miniature
paintings and Ambus painting.
Production Process
 The raw material required for production includes bones fevicole SH,
wood, and paint. Amongst this, to get bone a particular step by step
process is involved.
 When the animal is dead, its flesh get decomposed after sometime
and then its skin along with internal bone and skeleton is collected by
the waste collectors and submitted to government nigam office.
 Here, Auction of hard bones (only the bones of knees, leg, and hip
can be used for artwork purpose) is done. From here the hard go
under chemical treatment for cleaning purpose.
 Soft bones are converted in powdered form which are used as an
ingredient in medicines, toothpaste, etc.
 Majorly, the chemical treatment of bones is done in Muradabad. After
this process the bone is ready to be used in article making purpose.
 Total 6 types of machines are involved in bone craft which includes
shaper,grinder,moulder, etc
.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF ARTIST
 The most magnificent work till now is a train with steam engine.
It carries 200 passengers sitting inside it.
 It weighs 100 kg with length of 8.5 ft.
 It took 5 years for its completion. (2007-11)
 Right now it is placed in Delhi national museum for which the
artist is acknowledged with Rashtrapati Puraskar.
 He is given free travel allowance in India whenever he is out for
his work purpose which includes free food, stay and everything.
 Also, the central government sends him abroad many a times to
enhance his knowledge visiting and observing various artworks
of other artist especially of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Italy, Jordan etc.

  • 9. ACHIEVEMENTS OF ARTIST  The most magnificent work till now is a train with steam engine. It carries 200 passengers sitting inside it.  It weighs 100 kg with length of 8.5 ft.  It took 5 years for its completion. (2007-11)  Right now it is placed in Delhi national museum for which the artist is acknowledged with Rashtrapati Puraskar.  He is given free travel allowance in India whenever he is out for his work purpose which includes free food, stay and everything.  Also, the central government sends him abroad many a times to enhance his knowledge visiting and observing various artworks of other artist especially of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Italy, Jordan etc.
