UADY medical students gain international experience through IFMSA exchanges. Fifty students from UADY's Faculty of Medicine participated in cultural and academic exchanges with the International Federation of Medical Students Associations. The exchanges allow students to participate in research or clinical work in other Mexican states or 70 affiliated countries. Some UADY students recently participated in projects in Spain, Slovakia, Peru, and the Czech Republic related to neurology, psychiatry, cardiology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, and pediatrics.

1. During June of the current year, around 50 students from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY) engaged by the Committee on Medical Students of UADY participated with the Inter- national Federation of Medi- cal Students Association, IFMSA. The Federation aims to promote cultural and aca- demic exchanges of medical students around the world, through mobility agree- ments, which allows those undergoing medical careers to participate in research projects or work in clinics and hospitals in other States of Mexico or of any of the 70 affiliated countries.
Student Abraham Herrera Sánchez, coordi- nator international exchanges CEMUADY, said that the committee takes 5 years or- ganizing national and international trade and its goal is "to have a social impact, per- forming activities in the Committees of Public Health, Human Rights, and Repro- ductive Health. In the program we seek to create an impact on students through aca- demic and cultural exchange.” Meanwhile, student Elena Pasos Solis, lo- cal exchanges officer for the Student Re- search Committee, said that while the pro-
tocol of the projects is different from clinical work, the response of the students of Medi- cal Sciences has been successful, because for medical students to function professionally they must have a full training.
UADY currently offers two re- search projects, one at the Re- search Center "Dr. Hideyo Nogu- chi "and another on university nutrition at the Faculty of Chemi- cal Engineering. This year, Abraham Herrera and Georgina Trujeque, along with Helena Arzabala León and Diego Gómez collaborated on clinical work programs in the areas of neurology, psychiatry, cardiology and plastic surgery in Spain and Slovakia re- spectively. The graduates Pamela Núñez and Kristal Pech Oxté participated in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Saltillo, Coahuila, and students Marco Antonio Aranda and Rodrigo Ademar Tuyub took part in research projects on Or- thopedics and Neurology in Peru and the Czech Republic. The stays were scheduled from late June to August, and the students themselves paid for their trips.

José de Jesús Williams, coordi- nator of Academic Development recalled that the University has recognized programs and ac- credited and evaluated degrees in the Register of Quality CONA- CYT and it also has graduate programs by agencies and Excel- lent Performance indicators of students and all this "is the product of (the academics) work and commitment."
On August 27 of 2014, the Sec- retariat of Public Education (SEP by its Spanish acronym), through its Department of High- er Education, recognized 112 academics from the Autono- mous University of Yucatan (UADY by its Spanish acronym) that have the desirable profile for the Program Professional Development for Superior Teaching (PRODEP).
Of the 112 distinguished schol- ars today at the UADY Theatre, all are full-time and have a post- graduate (specialization, mas- ters and PhD), 28 received the recognition for the first time and 84 had already received it in the past. In total, UADY has 496 of its 786 teachers, ie, the 63.1%, with the desirable profile for a full-time teacher in a public in- stitution.
