NOTIFICATION FOR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a Joint Venture of Government of India and
Government of Karnataka, is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) entrusted with the responsibility
of implementing the Metro Rail Project in the city of Bangalore.
BMRCL invites applications from qualified and experienced personnel for appointment to key
senior, middle / junior level Engineering / Management positions in the Project Wing. All
appointments proposed will be on “contract basis” only.
The maximum age limit for the post of Chief Engineer is 53 years, for Additional Chief
Engineer / Dy. Chief Engineer 50 years, for Executive Engineer / Manager 45 years for
Assistant Executive Engineer 40 years and for Assistant Engineer / Section Engineer /
Design Assistant and Cad Operator 35 years .

Post Qualification experience: Minimum 12
years post qualification experience, out of
which at least 5 years’ experience should be
in tender and contract management of large

4 Dy. Chief Engineer

Post Qualification experience: Minimum 15

which minimum 5 years’ experience in Rolling
Stock. The candidate should have experience
in handling large value procurement tenders of

Communication Engineering or Degree in
Architecture
Post qualification experience: Minimum 12
years in designing of infrastructure project
including 3 years’ experience in Metro Rail
System.
Candidates having experience of UG Metro
system including the planning and designing

services and other system/subsystem shall be
preferred. The candidate should be well
conversant with national /international codes
and practices.

Besides the above, employees will be extended medical and personal accident insurance
cover, Mobile with CUG facility, contribution to superannuation fund and conveyance
allowance wherever applicable as per Rules of the Company.

II. PERIOD OF CONTRACT APPOINTMENT
1. The Contract Appointment will be for 3 years.
2. The contract of appointment may be terminated by either side by giving 30 days notice or
by paying the contractual remuneration of one month in lieu of notice period, if the
circumstances so warrant.
III. CONDITIONS
1. Candidates who have been shortlisted will only be called for interview.
2. Prescribed qualifications are the minimum requirements and mere possession of the
same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.
3. The experience is post qualification and the minimum required. Mere possession of
minimum experience does not confer any right to be called for interview / selection.
4. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside
influence with regard to selection/appointment shall be a disqualification.
5. Selection will be through Interview by a Committee constituted by the Competent
Authority.
IV. SELECTION
1. Candidates should submit applications in the prescribed format along with copies of all
the relevant certificates, testimonials as prescribed for the post
2. The application of any candidate found guilty of impersonation or submitting fabricated
documents or making statements, which are false or incorrect or indulging in suppression
of facts, attempting to use unfair means for the purpose of recruitment, will be liable for
rejection.
3. The candidates shall have to appear for interview as and when called, at their own cost.
V. MISCELLANEOUS
1. Documents in support of qualification and relevant experience shall be sent along
with the application. Non-submission of documents along with the application, will
lead to rejection of application at any stage during the process of recruitment.
2. The number of vacancies indicated in this Notification is provisional and may increase or
decrease depending upon the actual need. BMRCL also reserves the right to cancel the
notified vacancies at its discretion and such decision will be final and binding on all.
3. BMRCL reserves the right to assess fitness or otherwise of the candidates selected.

4. BMRCL shall not be liable for any damage / injury / loss to the individual, if any, sustained
during the entire recruitment process and journey.

  • 1. 1 BANGALORE METRO RAIL CORPORATION LIMITED (A Joint Venture of Govt. of India & Govt. of Karnataka) III Floor, BMTC Complex, K.H.Road, Shanthinagar, Bangalore – 27 No. BMRCL/194 / ADM / 2015/ PRJ-E 30.12.2015 NOTIFICATION FOR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Karnataka, is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the Metro Rail Project in the city of Bangalore. BMRCL invites applications from qualified and experienced personnel for appointment to key senior, middle / junior level Engineering / Management positions in the Project Wing. All appointments proposed will be on “contract basis” only. The maximum age limit for the post of Chief Engineer is 53 years, for Additional Chief Engineer / Dy. Chief Engineer 50 years, for Executive Engineer / Manager 45 years for Assistant Executive Engineer 40 years and for Assistant Engineer / Section Engineer / Design Assistant and Cad Operator 35 years . No. of posts, qualification and experience prescribed is given below: Sl No. Ssss Post No. of posts Qualification / Experience 1 CONTRACTS Dy. General Manager (Contracts – System) 1 Engineering graduate in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Civil Engineering (Graduate with additional Law Qualification shall be preferred). Post qualification experience: Minimum 15 years post qualification experience, out of which at least 5 years’ experience should be in tender and contract management of large value tenders with International Funding, including preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation, contract management and arbitration. Also the candidate should be well conversant with FIDIC conditions of contracts. Candidates with experience in handling of System contracts such as Rolling Stock, Power supply, Signalling and E&M etc. in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred. 2. Executive Engineer (Contracts– Systems) 2 Engineering graduate in Electrical /Electronics/ Mechanical/Civil. Engineering. (Graduate with additional Law Qualification shall be preferred.)
  • 2. 2 Post Qualification experience: Minimum 12 years post qualification experience, out of which at least 5 years’ experience should be in tender and contract management of large value tenders with International Funding, including preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation, contract management and arbitration. Also the candidate should be well conversant with FIDIC conditions of contracts. Candidates with experience in handling of System contracts such as Rolling Stock, Power supply, Signalling and E& M etc. in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred. 3. ROLLING STOCK Additional Chief Engineer(Rolling Stock) 1 Engineering Graduate in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering. Post qualification experience: Minimum 18 years post qualification experience, out of which minimum 7 years’ experience in Rolling Stock. The candidate should have experience in handling large value procurement tenders of Rolling Stock through international bidding process including preparation of Technical Specification, Design Evaluation &Review, interface etc. Candidates with experience in procurement of Rolling Stock in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred. 4 Dy. Chief Engineer (Rolling Stock) 3 Engineering Graduate in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering. Post Qualification experience: Minimum 15 years post qualification experience, out of which minimum 5 years’ experience in Rolling Stock. The candidate should have experience in handling large value procurement tenders of Rolling Stock through international bidding process including preparation of Technical Specification, Design Evaluation & Review, Inspection, Testing and Commissioning etc. Candidates with experience in procurement of Rolling Stock in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred. 5 Executive Engineer (Rolling Stock) 3 Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering. Post qualification experience : Minimum 12 years, in case of Degree holders and 15 years in case of Diploma holders, out of which minimum 3 years’ experience of Rolling Stock. Executive Engineer (RS) 2 Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering. Post qualification experience: Minimum 8 years, in case of Degree holders and 10 years in case of Diploma holders, out of which minimum 3 year experience in maintenance and operation of Rolling Stock. Hands-on experience in preparation of tender documents & Technical specification, Design and design review, Inspection, Testing and Commissioning etc. Candidates with experience of Rolling Stock in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred. 7 Asst. Engineer (RS) 2 Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering. Post qualification experience: Minimum 5 years, in case of Degree holders and 8 years in case of Diploma holders, out of which minimum 2 year experience in maintenance and operation of Rolling Stock. Hands-on experience in preparation of tender documents & Technical specification, Design and design review, Inspection, Testing and Commissioning etc. Candidates with experience of Rolling Stock in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred. 8 TRACTION & POWER SUPPLY Additional Chief Engineer(Traction & Power Supply) 2 Engineering Graduate in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Post qualification experience : Minimum 18 years, out of which minimum 7 years’ experience in Traction & Power Supply and SCADA. The candidate should have experience in handling large value tenders of Traction & Power Supply and SCADA system through international bidding process including preparation of Technical Specification, Design Evaluation & Review, interface etc. Candidates with experience in tendering and Contract management of Traction & Power supply system in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred.
  • 4. 4 9 Deputy Chief Engineer (Traction) 2 Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Post qualification experience : Minimum 15 years in case of degree holders and 18 years in case of Diploma holders, out of which minimum 5 years experience in Traction & Power Supply and SCADA.   • 5. 5 12 Assistant Engineer (Traction) 2 Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Post qualification experience : Minimum 5 years in case of degree holders and 8 years in case of Diploma holders, out of which minimum 2 years experience in Traction & Power Supply. Candidate should have hands-on experience in preparation of tender documents & Technical specification, Design and design review, site supervision, Testing and Commissioning etc. of Traction & Power Supply Candidates with experience in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred. 13 PROCUREMENT Deputy Chief Engineer (Procurement) 1 Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics / Mechanical Engineering Post qualification experience: Minimum 15 years in case of Degree holders and 18 years in case of Diploma holders out of which minimum 5 year experience in procurement of Depot and Workshop machinery and plants. The hands on experience in handling of tenders and contracts, including the preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation and site supervision with respect to procurement of M & P. Candidates with experience in Depot works in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred 14 Executive Engineer ( Depot Procurement) 1 Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics / Mechanical Engineering Post qualification experience: Minimum 12 years in case of Degree holders and 15 years in case of Diploma holders out of which minimum 3 years experience in procurement of Depot and Workshop machinery and plants. The hands on experience in handling of tenders and contracts, including the preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation and site supervision with respect to procurement of M&P. Candidates with experience in Depot works in Metro Rail Projects will be preferred 15 E & M Additional Chief Engineer(E&M) 1 Engineering Graduate in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics / Mechanical Engineering Post qualification experience: Minimum 18 years post qualification experience, out of
  • 6. 6 which minimum 7 years’ experience in E&M and building services works with hands on experience in design and planning, preparation of tender specifications/documents, tender evaluations and contract management for E&M and Building services works. Candidate with experience of E&M/TVS/ECS works in modern metro system shall be preferred. 16 Deputy Chief Engineer (E&M) 2 Engineering Graduate or diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics / Mechanical Engineering Post qualification experience: Minimum experience of 15 years in case of degree holders and 18 years in case of Diploma holders, out of which minimum 5 years’ experience in E&M and building services works, with the hands on experience in design and planning, preparation of tender specifications/documents, tender evaluations and contract management for E&M and Building services works.. Candidate with experience of E&M/TVS/ECS works in modern metro system shall be preferred. 17 Executive Engineer (E&M) 4 Engineering Graduate or diploma in Electrical /Electrical and Electronics / Mechanical Engineering Post qualification experience: Minimum experience of 12 years in case of degree holders and 15 years in case of Diploma holders, out of which minimum 3 years’ experience in E&M and building services works, with the hands on experience in design and planning, preparation of tender specifications /documents, tender evaluations and contract execution and management .   • 13. 13 II. PERIOD OF CONTRACT APPOINTMENT 1. The Contract Appointment will be for 3 years. 2. The contract of appointment may be terminated by either side by giving 30 days notice or by paying the contractual remuneration of one month in lieu of notice period, if the circumstances so warrant. III. CONDITIONS 1. Candidates who have been shortlisted will only be called for interview. 2. Prescribed qualifications are the minimum requirements and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. 3. The experience is post qualification and the minimum required. Mere possession of minimum experience does not confer any right to be called for interview / selection. 4.
