2. Road Way Design
We undertake geometric design of Highways using software like MX-Road together with
AutoCAD. The graphic files containing survey data will be transferred to design package and the
detailed design and quantity calculations will be executed through the following steps:
 Generating Digital Terrain Model (DTM) followed by triangulation and contour plan of
the existing ground surface
 Designing horizontal alignment of the Proposed center line along the existing alignment
and providing geometric improvement wherever necessary
 Generating existing ground profile along the Proposed center line; designing vertical
Alignment for the proposed center line, so as to match with the formation level of the
existing alignment wherever possible and providing geometric improvement wherever
necessary.
 Creating cross-section templates and roadway libraries showing street-wise
applicability of different template.
 Running ‘roadway modeller’ to generate proposed road surface showing carriageway
and shoulder edges, toe lines of proposed embankment etc.
 Generating reports on proposed cross sections and setting out data as well as reports on
Horizontal and vertical alignment, clearance of structures and
 Utilities, utility relocation etc. using ‘Reports’ module. Calculating earthwork and sub
