Encik Rahman ialah seorang pemandu teksi. Biasanya dia mula
mengambil penumpang seawal jam 8.00 pagi, selepas menghantar dua
orang anaknya ke sekolah. Penumpang-penumpangnya terdiri daripada
pekerja sektor swasta dan sektor kerajaan. Encik Rahman mengambil dan
menghantar penumpang ke seluruh pelusuk bandar raya Kuala Lumpur.
Waktu pagi dan petang adalah waktu puncak kesesakan jalan
raya. Banyak kenderaan berpusu-pusu di jalan raya. Bunyi hon
kenderaan akibat pemandu-pemandu yang tidak sabar kedengaran di
sana sini. Walaupun begitu, Encik Rahman sentiasa bersikap tenang. Dia
selalu mengamalkan sikap berhemah dan bertimbang rasa di jalan raya.
Encik Rahman sentiasa berpakaian kemas dan mesra dengan
penumpang-penumpangnya. Dia tidak pernah menipu penumpangnya.
Bayaran tambang dibuat mengikut bacaan meter. Pergaulannya dengan
rakan-rakan juga baik. Encik Rahman akan meluangkan masa untuk isteri
dan anak-anaknya pada sebelah malam. Dia selalu menyemak kerja-
kerja sekolah anaknya.
