3. What exactly is blogging?
• You can think of it as an online journal or diary,
although blogs are used for much more now.
• As teachers we can use blogs for so many things!
Publicize class events
Keep parents up to date
Can be used instead of newsletters
Post assignments
Share resources
4. Your students can use blogs too!
• Students can write blogs that fit any
genre from diary entries to reading
journals, from reflective comments to
literary analysis, and more. Any genre
that a student can write with pen on a
piece of paper can also be written online
as a blog entry.
• Their peers can comment on others blog
posts as well.
• It is something that you can show parents
• As a future resource this has 5 easy steps
to set up blogs for your students!

5. How Can We Use Blogs Now?
• As future teachers we can use our blogs to post
different assignments we have done, experiences we
want to share, and our journey to teaching!
• It is something we can talk about in interviews.
• It is a great way to show future employers things
you have done in the past.
• You will have to do one next semester, so you will
get a jump start tonight!
