3. Racism
● Racism means a prejudice or discrimination, an opinion or antagonism, directed
against someone of a different race based on the belief that their own race is
better.
● Racism is a thing that the black and brown communities experience everyday.
● It can tear you down.
● It can affect you and others around you.
● Please stand up if you have experienced racism.
4. Police Brutality
● When police officers do things like
hurt innocent people based on the
threat of their skin color.
● There were only 23 days in 2018
where police did not kill someone.
● Black people were 25% of those
killed despite being only 13% of
the population in this country.
● Black people are 3 times more
likely to be killed by police than
white people. 30% were unarmed.
