The Harris Hawk is a medium-sized bird of prey that weighs 500-1200g with a wingspan of 110-120cm and length of 48-56cm. It nests in small trees, shrubs or cacti, using sticks, roots and stems to build compact nests lined with leaves, moss and bark. The Harris Hawk lives in sparse woodlands and semi-desert areas, where the female lays clutches of 5-6 bluish eggs with occasional grey or brown speckles.
