5. DNA repair gene involved in
tumours
• Cancer as we know is an
uncontrolled cell division
caused by problems in
the high regulated
process, That’s why cells
continue growing in an
unusual and pathological
way causing organ failure
and in a large number of
cases death.
6. DNA repair gene involved in
tumours
• Pituitary tumors are rare
compared with some
others types of cancer and
generally they are benign.
therefore chemotherapy is
the best option for
treatment of the disease
and MGTM repair gen has
an important role as
biomarker for chemo.

8. DNA repair gene involved in
tumours
This molecular discovery show us that loss of MGMT
expression may contribute to the progression of
pituitary cancer and can be a new perspective for some
others researchers interested in finding treatment from
the pathological development of the illness.
9. DNA repair gene involved in
tumours
it is a tremendous achievement in cancer
treatment with chemo, denying what is
believed about the role of MGMT gene in
pituitary cancer disease and even better, this
opens a window in investigations in other types
of cancer and finally this will help to completely
understand all about the molecular origin of
cancer and how to stop it once and for all.
10. Researchers unravel secrets of
parasites' replication
• Since the discovery of illness
caused by parasites, scientists
have been trying to fight them in
a similar way as is made with
bacterias by using antibiotics ,
but unfortunately there has
been no success. Therefore
scientists had to fight them
inside the host, achieving
destroy the parasite but also
sometimes the patient.
11. Researchers unravel secrets of
parasites' replication
• the researchers focused on
discovering the process of
replication and organization
of Trypanosoma brucei
mitochondrial DNA,
radioactively marking 1 of
the 6 polymerases it has,
through fluorescence.
12. Researchers unravel secrets of
parasites' replication
after follow-up of the protein, it was able to
describe which is the role played by mtDNA
polymerase ID (POLID) in the process of

14. Researchers unravel secrets of
parasites' replication
these findings are exciting because of the importance to
combating tropical parasitic diseases that cause
thousands of deaths per year and have been a major
health problem mainly in countries in process of
development affecting child population and those in
poverty
15. Opinion of DNA repair gene involved in
tumours
• in medical application, the
study results are important
because by measuring levels
of MGMT gene in patients,
we can foresee whether the
tumor will create immunity
to chemotherapy or
otherwise stimulate new
genes responsible for
genetic repair transcription.
16. Opinion of DNA repair gene involved in
tumours
• This study is important
as it can be replicated in
another different types
of cancer other than
pituitary and it works to
determine how the
gene interferes with
other types of
neoplasms.
17. Researchers unravel secrets of
parasites' replication
Is a breakthrough for the treatment of
parasitic diseases since of being found a new
mechanism to fight or inhibit the replicative
parasite, would not be necessary the use of
current medications, which apart from
destroying the parasite, cause tremendous
systemic and cell harm in the host.
18. Researchers unravel secrets of
parasites' replication
Using the new discovery, the
replicative process of
Trypanosoma bruci can be
inhibited and thereby treat
African sleeping sickness in a
more efficient way and with
fewer side effects and prevent
the emergence of new epidemics
of the disease such as Africa has
suffered since the 19th century.
