Mr. Raimo Hämäläinen:
Mr. Raimo Hämäläinen graduated in year 1980 in Naval Architecture
(B.Sc) at Turku Institute of Technology.
At the beginning he worked as Designer at the Steel Drawing Office and
then several years as Hydrodynamicist in Theory Department at Wärtsilä
Marine Inc.
Since 1991 he has been Head of Hydrodynamics at Aker Finnyards Turku
(today Meyer Turku, Finland). The area of responsibility: hydrodynamics
for ships and projects, separate R&D works inside company and
internationally.
He finished his study in 1992 in Information Technology (M.Sc) at
Technical University of Tampere. His Thesis handled subject “Hull Form
Design Program in Project Work”.
Raimo has taken care of Hydrodynamics: more than 70 New Buildings,
several hundred projects and many R&D developments.
Raimo hasn been member of SNAME from year 1998.
Raimo has been the teacher for Ship Hydrodynamics from year 2008 in
Professional High School in Turku.
Raimo has been the hydrodynamic teacher for some Finnish companies
during year 2013 to improve their hydrodynamic capabilities.
