This document discusses an experiment to test the effect of adding hydrogen peroxide to diesel fuel on the fuel's performance. The experiment measured the cetane number - a measure of ignition quality - of blends of diesel and hydrogen peroxide.
The experimental method involved blending diesel fuel with various concentrations of hydrogen peroxide from 0.5-2% by volume. The cetane numbers of the blends were then measured and compared to plain diesel fuel.
The results showed that blending hydrogen peroxide with diesel fuel increased the cetane number, and therefore the ignition quality, of the fuel compared to plain diesel. Higher concentrations of hydrogen peroxide led to greater increases in cetane number.
