The South Australian Department of Child Protection works
in partnership with vulnerable families, other government and
non-government organizations, foster carers and the community
to keep children and young people safe and give them the same
opportunities as other young South Australians.
As a new department, formed in response to a recommendation
made by a Royal Commission, the South Australian Department
of Child protection need to quickly establish a digital environment
for over 2,000 staff. They turned to LiveTiles to simplify the
SharePoint experience build an engaging corporate intranet

The Challenge
With varying stakeholders and different
requirements across the business, an intranet
project posed a significant challenge.
“We had very few foundation systems an
organization requires to operate,” explained
Hamish Cameron, DCP’s Chief Information Officer.
“I knew we needed to get this going quickly if we
were to succeed. That’s when I started looking at
tools to help build on top of SharePoint, make it
look nicer, but importantly, reduce the build time”.
The Solution
LiveTiles partner and local IT services firm Chamonix
worked with DCP to simplify the SharePoint
experience and build an intranet for over 2,000 staff
in just a couple of months.
The usability coupled with the improved search has
been really welcomed by staff.
Hamish and his team collaborated with stakeholders
to design and build a new intranet using LiveTiles’
library of ‘drag and drop’, incorporating modern
and mobile-friendly interface, intuitive document
management and search functionality.

With its new intranet, DCP SA has an

great search capabilities,” Hamish said.
“I can’t understate how important that it is,

on protecting vulnerable children and young

As part of a broader strategic plan, Moorabool
Council wanted to provide a centralised,
