now awaiting approval.

 District falls under the Godavari basin and the
Krishna basin
 The Godavari basin extends over 4,411 square
kilometers and the Krishna basin covers 585

Tourism
• Bidar Fort is considered one of the most formidable forts in the country. There are five gateways for
entry into the city fort.
• Zanana Masjid built in 1423-24 AD by Qubil Sultani,is known for its 16 pillars in the front. It is
considered as one of the largest mosque in India.
• Veerabhadreshewara Jatra’s at Humnabad & Changlare are two ancient temples of Lord.
Veerbhadreshwara, attract lakh of tourists in the Month of January and November.
• Bidar Gurudwara is a sacred holy site for Sikhs as Guru Nanak Dev visited this place.
• Papnash Shiv Temple: As per the local traditional saying, the Shiva Linga idol in this temple is one of
those installed by Shri Ram.
• Established Basavakalyan Development Authority for over all development of Mahatma
Basaveshwara’s ancient place (12 Century Chalukya dynasty).
• Narasimha Jharna: A famous ancient Narsimha temple inside cave where pilgrims walk inside the cave
in with water upto the stomach level.
• Jungle Resort at Vilaspur village, Bidar - Established a resort in hilly area surrounded by lake.
• Deva Deva Vana - Beautiful Picnic spot having important medical plants.
• Sri Manik Prabhu Maharaj – A spiritual centre located at Maniknagar, Humnabad
