• The name “Joshua” in the OT means the same as “Jesus”
in the NT – “the Lord is salvation”
• Jesus leads the people into the promised land into rest. –
one temporal (Canaan), the other eternal. One perfect,

जो कु छ उस में मलखा है उसके
अनुसार करने की िू चौकसी करे;
क्योंकक ऐसा ही करने से िेरे सब
काम सफल होंगे, और िू
प्रभािशाली होगा।
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall
not depart from your mouth, but you
shall meditate on it day and night,
so that you may be careful to do
according to all that is written in it; for
then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have
success.

िुम यह कहकर उन को बिाना, कक
इस्राएली यरिन के पार स्थल ही स्थल
चले आए थे। …24 इसमलये कक पृथ्िी
के सब देशों के लोग जान लें कक
यहोिा का हाथ बलिन्त है; और िुम
सवकिा अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा का भय
मानिे रहो॥
Joshua 4:21 “When your children ask their fathers in
time to come, saying, ‘What are these stones?’ 22 then
you shall inform your children, saying, ‘Israel crossed this
Jordan on dry ground…. 24 that all the peoples
of the earth may know that the hand of
the Lord is mighty, so that you may fear
the Lord your God forever.”

यहोशू 5:13 जब यहोशू यरीहो के पास था
िब उसने अपनी आंखें उठाई, और क्या
िेखा, कक हाथ में नांगी तलिार ललये हुए
एक पुरूष साम्हने खडा है; और यहोशू ने
उसके पास जा कर पूछा, क्या िू हमारी
ओर का है, वा हमारे बैररयों की ओर का?
14 उसने उत्तर दिया, कक नहीं; मैं यहोिा
की सेना का प्रधान हो कर अभी आया हूां।
िब यहोशू ने पृथ्वी पर मुंह के बल धगरकर
िण्डवि ककया, और उस से कहा, अपने िास
के मलये मेरे प्रभु की क्या आज्ञा है?
15 यहोवा की सेना के प्रधान ने यहोशू से
कहा, अपनी जूती पाांि से उतार डाल,
क्योंकक क्जस स्थान पर िू खड़ा है वह
पववत्र है। िब यहोशू ने वैसा ही ककया॥
Joshua 5:13 A man was standing opposite him with
his sword drawn in his hand…14 He said, “I indeed
come now as Captain of the Host of
the Lord. .. Remove your sandals from your feet,
for the place where you are standing is holy.” 5

यहोशू 2:3 िब यरीहो के राजा ने
राहाब के पास यों कहला भेजा, कक
जो पुरूष िेरे यहां आए हैं उन्हें बाहर
ले आ; क्योंकक वे सारे िेश का भेि
लेने को आए हैं। 4 उस स्त्री ने दोनों
पुरूषों को छिपा रखा; और इस प्रकार
कहा, कक मेरे पास कई पुरूष आए िो
थे, परन्िु मैं नहीं जानिी कक वे कहां
के थे;
Joshua 2:3 And the king of
Jericho sent word to Rahab,
saying, “Bring out the men who
have come to you,...” 4 But
the woman had taken the two
men and hidden them, and she
said, “.. I do not know where the
men went.

Deep Conviction-Chose God over King
यहोशू 2:9 इन पुरूषों से कहने लगी, मुझे िो
तनश्चय है कक यहोवा ने तुम लोगों को यह
देश ददया है, और तुम्हारा भय हम लोगों के
मन में समाया है, और इस िेश के सब
तनवासी िुम्हारे कारण घबरा रहे हैं।
10 क्योंकक हम ने सुना है कक यहोवा ने
िुम्हारे ममस्र से तनकलने के समय िुम्हारे
साम्हने लाल समुद्र का जल सुखा दिया। और
िुम लोगों ने सीहोन और ओग नाम यरिन
पार रहने वाले एमोररयों के िोनों राजाओं को
सत्यानाश कर डाला है।
11 और यह सुनिे ही हमारा मन वपघल
गया, और िुम्हारे कारण ककसी के जी में जी
न रहा; क्योंकक तुम्हारा परमेश्िर यहोिा ऊपर
के आकाश का और नीचे की पृथ्िी का
परमेश्िर है।
Joshua 2:9 “I know that the Lord has given you
the land, and that the terror of you has fallen on us,..
10 For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water
of the Red Sea .. and what you did to the two kings of
the Amorites.. 11 .. for the Lord your God, He is
God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

यहोशू 2:12 अब मैं ने जो िुम
पर िया की है, इसमलये मुझ
से यहोवा की शपथ खाओ कक
िुम भी मेरे वपिा के घराने पर
िया करोगे, और इसकी सच्ची
धचन्हानी मुझे िो, 13 कक िुम
मेरे मािा-वपिा, भाइयों और
बदहनों को, और जो कु छ उनका
है उन सभों को भी जीवित रख
िोडो, और हम सभों का प्राण
मरने से बचाओगे।
Joshua 2:12 Now therefore,
please swear to me by the Lord..
give me a pledge of truth, 13 and..
deliver our lives from death.”

• Salmon was the
father of Boaz by
Rahab, Boaz was the
father of Obed by
Ruth, and Obed the
father of Jesse. Matt 1:5

15. राहाब परमेश्वर चुना है और
उसकी चुनाव वािा ककया ।
इसराइल अपनी पसंि को
सील नहीं ककया ।
Rahab chose God and sealed her
choice. Children of Israel chose God
but did not seal their choice.

Rahab made her place in the
annals of history whereas the
children of Israel lost their face in

के लाग यरीहो के साम्हने पार उतर गए।
Joshua 3:15 and when… the feet of the priests
carrying the ark were dipped in the edge of the
water.. 16 the waters which were flowing
down from above stood and rose up
in one heap,.

यहोशू 6:20 िब लोगों ने जयजयकार

Joshua 6:20 When the people
heard the sound of the
trumpet, the people shouted
with a great shout and the wall
fell down flat, so that the
people went up.. and they took
the city.

यहोशू 11:16 िब यहोशू ने उस सारे

Joshua 11:16 Thus Joshua took all that
land:.. And he captured all their kings
and struck them down and put them to

made peace with the sons of Israel
except the Hivites living in Gibeon; they
took them all in battle.

यहोशू 7:1 परन्िु इस्राएमलयों

यहूिा के गोत्र का आकान, जो
जेरहवंशी जब्िी का पोिा और
कम्मी का पुत्र था, उसने
अपकण की वस्िुओं में से कु ि
ले ललया; इस कारण यहोवा
का कोप इस्राएमलयों पर भड़क
उठा॥
Joshua 7:1 But the sons of Israel acted
unfaithfully in regard to the things under the
ban, for Achan…took some of the things
under the ban, therefore the anger of
the Lord burned against the sons of Israel.

यहोशू 9:14 िब उन पुरूषों ने
यहोवा से बबना सलाह मलये
उनके भोजन में से कु छ ग्रहण
ककया। 15 िब यहोशू ने उन
से मेल करके उन से यह
वाचा बान्धी, कक िुम को
जीववि छोड़ेंगे; और मण्डली
के प्रधानों ने उन से शपथ
खाई।
Joshua 9:14 So the men of Israel took some
of their provisions, and did not ask for
the counsel of the Lord. 15 Joshua
made peace with them and made a
covenant with them, to let them live;
and the leaders of the congregation swore an
oath to them.

God’s command through:
• Abraham (Gen. 18:19) For I have chosen him, so that he

the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just…

• यीशु ने मािा-वपिा और उसके चेले आरोप लगाया है, उसे करने के
मलए छोटे बच्चों को लाने के मलए (लूका 18: 15-17)
• Paul: Fathers,do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the
training and instruction of the Lord. (Eph. 6:4)
• Jesus: charged the parents and his disciples, to bring the little children to him
(Luke 18:15-17).

42. परमेश्वर के वचन प्राप्ि और दहस्सा करने के मलए ववफलिा
Failure to Pass on/ Receive God’s Word
पररणाम:
 परमेश्िर उन लोगों से दूर रही है और एक सहायक नहीां
लेककन एक दुश्मन बनने (न्याछययों 2:11-15).
 दुछनया और दुछनया की बातों के मलए प्यार(1 यूहन्ना 2:14-17).
• God turns away from them and becoming not a helper but an enemy
(2:11-15).
• Love the world and the things in the world (1 John 2:14-17).

कक मैं ने िुम को ममस्र से ले आकर इस िेश में पहुंचाया है, क्जसके ववषय में मैं ने िुम्हारे
पुरखाओं से शपथ खाई थी। और मैं ने कहा था, कक जो वाचा मैं ने िुम से बान्धी है, उसे
मैं कभी न िोडूंगा; 2 इसमलये िुम इस िेश के छनिालसयों िाचा न बान्धना; िुम
उनकी वेदियों को ढा िेना। परन्िु तुम ने मेरी बात नहीां मानी। िुम ने ऐसा क्यों
ककया है? 3 इसमलये मैं कहिा हूं, कक मैं उन लोगों को तुम्हारे साम्हने से न
छनकालूांगा; और िे तुम्हारे पाांजर में काांटे, और उनके िेविा िुम्हारे मलये फं िे
ठहरेंगे। 4 जब यहोवा के िूि ने सारे इस्राएमलयों से ये बािें कहीं, िब वे लोग धचल्ला
धचल्लाकर रोने लगे।
