Images and ideas to create a feel tor the space

As per the design brief, it entailed to redesign the property of 47 York Terrace West, Regents Park, London NW1
4QA. A property located in the heart of London amongst many tourist attractions. From the early 1970’s to
present day many aspects have changed in terms of design, influence and appeal and therefore the need to
                                           keep with the current climate.

Although the property has been kept in impeccable condition over the years some aesthetic changes as
indicated need to be implemented as well as restored to their former condition, thus my proposal.
We fall into a typical design style which depicts clean cut lines, spacious surround and is free from clutter. A
style, very much known as contemporary and this is what I have envisioned for the property.

Each building is unique and has its own characteristics and features that envelope it. Architecture and design is
thus about making a space work and in the interim making the space alive. In addition to bringing forth the
contemporary style, I propose to form a certain eclectic look if you may, not only to redesign and reinvent the
house but in keeping with the original design and mix the two styles together that may form part of the
building. The idea is to create a timeless look that is both an inviting and functional.

bathroom as they are hard- Function, mood and harmony are the factors that spell the
wearing, scratch-resistant, difference between designer bedroom and the usual. A great
waterproof and easy to clean. bedroom is a place to relax and recharge, a stylish and peaceful
retreat that’s as versatile as it is welcoming.

The bedroom interior design is extremely important in order to
provide that instant feel of relaxation and comfortable atmosphere.

Bedroom Furniture is
designed with keeping in
mind the profile of the
person living in the
bedroom. The layout and
style of a bedroom
reflects the personality
of the individual.

The first thing that
catches the eyes
are the colours
used on the walls,
carpets and bed
set so, they all
must be soothing
in pastel colours in
order to provide a
relaxing effect.
Dining Room
Whether you use your dining room for everyday family meals, or only on special occasions, it is an essential place for
unforgettable gatherings. A dining room environment should exude classic style and comfort and literally set the stage
for wonderful food, good times, and great memories.

The design for the dining room was done so around
a main feature which is depicted by the beams
placed on the ceiling. It creates a dynamic feature
enclosing or separating the open space which in a
 sense creates boundaries without compromising
the space. In addition the planked wood ceiling and
old stylish furniture beckons you to spend time in
 this space.

The room mainly lacked sufficient lighting and this
was resolved in manipulating the space through
colour, texture, pendant lighting which serves as a
focal point as well as mirrors which have been put
 in place.
Kitchen
The Kitchen is one of the most important
spaces in the home, otherwise known as the
centrepiece of the home and therefore was
entirely redesigned with much updating in
appliances, countertops, and cabinets as it is
getting to the very core and essence of the
                                                   kitchen.

The design features tall white washed cabinetry
with a stainless steel finishes which carries an
aged look that blends well with existing moulding
                                                   elsewhere in the house.

The design of the kitchen was done so in mind
to incorporate a classic look as was it to bring
in light into the home which it essence, greatly
lacks. In adding refaced cabinets ,opening up
the space centralising around a centre island
the space has become far more interactive, it
combines form and function which is the focal
point of any successful design.

The hardware are a small part of
the total cabinets, but they are
the components that give the
cabinets’ character and
individuality therefore ones
were chosen to compliment the
look as a whole.
