Description About Customer:
Rite Aid is the largest drugstore chain on the East Coast and the third largest drugstore
chain in the United States with more than 4500 stores across the country.
About the project:
Nexgen pharmacy System, is a script (prescriptions) dispensing desktop application,
where in customers are enrolled in the system, new orders are created and tracked
until delivery, data entry and review works are done. Applications also interacts with
hardware devices such as printers, scanners, automation devices etc.
Technology:
Nexgen is a multi-threaded desktop application developed in Java (Swings), that uses
MS SQL Server as local database and MainFrame DB2 is the central database.
Application interacts with MainFrame by means of XMLs through TCP IP connections.
Current Role Developer
Current Responsibilities • Requirement gathering and analysis.
• Co-coordinating with stakeholders for functional and business requirements.
• Documentation: Creating / updating the use cases for each requirement and
preparing technical design document.
• Development and testing of Java modules supported by XMLs, Mainframe DB2,
Microsoft SQL.
• Daily communication with the business users during UAT phase for defect
tracking.
• Onsite / Offshore co-ordination: Assigning work to offshore team and tracking
the same, review the work done by offshore before delivering to client.
