A Roush team came through Middle Tennessee and helped out with a school bus presentation at Central States Bus and an airport presentation at BNA, the Nashville airport. This presentation is from the airport and covers the related vehicle offerings that Roush has in addition to a good overview of propane as a transportation alternative fuel.
Superior Propane has converted nearly half of its service vehicle fleet to run on propane and sees significant benefits. They analyzed 5 dual-fuel trucks that use propane 99% of the time and gasoline 1% of the time, and saw a 34% reduction in fuel costs, saving almost $5,000 per vehicle annually. The conversion cost of $5,700 per vehicle is recouped within a year due to fuel savings. Drivers report reliable performance similar to gasoline with benefits like reduced emissions and convenient refueling options at stations across Canada.
DEF, or diesel emission fluid, is a urea-based fluid used in SCR (selective catalytic reduction) systems to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from diesel engines. DEF is 32.5% urea and 67.5% water. When injected into exhaust and heated, the urea converts to ammonia to facilitate the conversion of nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen and water. Vehicles using SCR starting in 2010 consume approximately 1-3% of the amount of fuel in DEF. DEF is sold in containers from 1-gallon jugs to 330-gallon totes and must be stored between 12-86 degrees Fahrenheit to avoid crystallization or reduced shelf life.
The document introduces the new 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD pickup truck. It has the most advanced and proven powertrains, including a Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine or Vortec 6.0L V8 gasoline engine. The Silverado HD is also the strongest yet, with high-strength steel in the frame and cab for maximum towing capacity up to 23,200 lbs. It features innovative technologies like available 4G LTE Wi-Fi and safety systems to alert the driver of potential hazards.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

Chris Jones, Director of Product Management at BrainChip , presents the “Temporal Event Neural Networks: A More Efficient Alternative to the Transformer” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
The expansion of AI services necessitates enhanced computational capabilities on edge devices. Temporal Event Neural Networks (TENNs), developed by BrainChip, represent a novel and highly efficient state-space network. TENNs demonstrate exceptional proficiency in handling multi-dimensional streaming data, facilitating advancements in object detection, action recognition, speech enhancement and language model/sequence generation. Through the utilization of polynomial-based continuous convolutions, TENNs streamline models, expedite training processes and significantly diminish memory requirements, achieving notable reductions of up to 50x in parameters and 5,000x in energy consumption compared to prevailing methodologies like transformers.
Integration with BrainChip’s Akida neuromorphic hardware IP further enhances TENNs’ capabilities, enabling the realization of highly capable, portable and passively cooled edge devices. This presentation delves into the technical innovations underlying TENNs, presents real-world benchmarks, and elucidates how this cutting-edge approach is positioned to revolutionize edge AI across diverse applications.

in fuel costs.
10. For anyone who operates a diesel powered
piece of equipment to accomplish the following:
Reduce fuel costs
2. Extend engine life by reducing carbon abrasion
within a diesel engine
3. Reduce carbon emissions
- Reduced Particulate Matter Filter Regenerations
(newer model motors)
- Reduced Urea usage (newer model motors)
4. Safely Increase horsepower
11. Hybrid diesel Injection displaces a portion of your diesel fuel
with propane or natural gas. This displacement ranges
between 20% and 50% - depending on which fuel is being
used. Propane and natural gas cost far less than diesel
fuel. For example, the average over-the-road heavy truck
that travels 100,000 miles a year will save between $11,000
and $15,000 a year on their fuel bill using HDI.
How Does HDI Work?
12. • Approximately 90
percent of propane
consumed in the U.S. is
produced domestically
• An additional 7 percent
is produced in Canada
Domestically Produced
15. • Requires a higher temperature to ignite than
gasoline or diesel fuel
• Does not puddle – vaporizes and dissipates
into the air
• Cannot be accidentally ingested
