What is Backlink?
A backlink, also known as an inbound link or incoming link, is a hyperlink on one website that points to
another website. Essentially, when one website links to another, it creates a backlink for the linked-to
website.
Backlinks are important for search engine optimization (SEO) because search engines like Google use
them as one of the factors to determine the relevance, authority, and popularity of a website.
Backlinks are like "votes" from other websites.
The more high-quality backlinks a website has from reputable and relevant sources, the more likely it is to
rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs).
However, not all backlinks are created equal; search engines also consider factors such as the authority and
relevance of the linking website, the anchor text used in the hyperlink, and the context in which the link
appears.
In SEO, building a diverse and natural backlink profile is essential for improving a website's search engine
rankings and increasing its visibility online.
