This document discusses the nature of beliefs and the difference between beliefs and knowing. It argues that beliefs are by definition unverifiable and amount to conjecture. While beliefs can be useful as stepping stones to guide action when knowledge is lacking, to claim beliefs as knowledge is a form of lying. True spiritual evolution involves seeking to move from beliefs to knowing through investigation of what is objectively true or can be known, rather than remaining stuck in unfounded beliefs.
