De kick off van het Trendsfactory jaarprogramma werd 13 februari 2014 gehouden met zeer interessante sprekers. Sprekers die dagelijks bezig zijn met de ontwikkelingen van vandaag en morgen. En daar op hun manier ook invloed op proberen uit te voeren.
De consument is aan de macht, waarvan de ontwikkelingen rondom smartTV als goed voorbeeld gelden. Hoe vertaal je dit veranderende mediagebruik naar je marketing en communicatie inspanningen? Rembrandt Smids vertelt en illustreert.
Smart TV is een totaal ander medium dan dat we dat kenden van normale TV. Het is plotseling geen massa medium meer maar een gepersonaliseerd kanaal voor ieder in het huishouden. En Tegelijkertijd is de smart TV nog wel het dominante scherm in de woonkamer wat verbindt.
Het aanbod van content is totaal veranderd en dat meldt Kevin Spacey op een hele duidelijke manier in deze speech. ”All we have to do is give it to them”. Daarbij verwijzend naar de honger van de consument voor content. Alleen dan wel op de manier zoals hij of zij dat wilt consumeren. En dan maakt het niet uit via welke device de tv content binnen rolt. Waar dat kan worden bekeken. Zolang het beschikbaar is.
Er zijn verschillende manieren om content aan te bieden: mashing (door elkaar), stacking (op hetzelfde moment aanbieden van verschillende content)en shifting (zelfde onderwerp door de tijd mee). We krijgen daarbij ook een verandering in aanbod. Van lineaire tv naar continue aanbod, maar daar zijn de programma’s nog niet klaar voor. Op de vraag wie er ooit „ik hou van Holland” heeft teruggekeken was er dan ook niemand in de zaal die zijn hand op stak.
Met de Smart TV wordt continu bijgehouden wat er aangeboden wordt en wat er bekeken wordt. Ook hier zien we weer data terug komen; het aanbod kan steeds beter worden afgestemd op de vraag.
