The Machinal. When I first heard the name of the play, I thought that it would be related to something about cars, machines or even any mechanical devices because of the name. After that, I googled it and read some topics about the play and the playwright. I found too many interesting information. Firstly, I found that it’s a 1928 play which is written by the American playwright and the journalist Sophie Treadwell. Added to this, it’s inspired by true events from the life of the convicted and executed murderer Ruth Snyder. It’s obvious that this wonderful play is considered one of the most highpoints plays on the American stage till now and it will continue at this honorable spot for a very long time. I liked the paly and it left an awesome feeling inside me. The Theater was astonishing. It was huge, very organized and amazing. If I continue to say my opinion about the theater and the play, it will take a very long time because I really loved both of them.
Now I’m going to talk emotionally about the play. To be honest, at the beginning the play was a little bit boring and the events were too slow due to that Helen is fighting and struggling everything around her but after a while the main picture became clear and the theme of the play became obvious which touched me from inside. the play made me felt sorry for Helen because no one was thinking about what she wants, all of them were caring about their own benefits only even her own mother and her boss who she married. I think that the main theme of the play is telling the audience with a expressionism way how the main character (Helen) feels about her life and how she fights and struggles to reach her own satisfaction and comfort although all of the circumstances that is facing her and standing as a barrier between her and her goals in life. That is the big picture of the play.
Let’s go ahead and talk about the actor’s performance. Firstly, the actress who played the character of Helen jones. She was one of the best actresses that I ever saw on stage, she was very convincing and showed the audience the real feeling that Helen feels and she was really feeling the character as it were her for real! I liked her way of acting too much and she is a wonderful actress. The Boss (George h. Jones) was very amazing too and was personalizing the character in a very good way. The mum, lover and even the secondary characters were very good too and they did a very good show. On the other hand, the relationships that the actors created were so believable. th.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

What is the story?

her father free. She trades her freedom for her dads. Gaston seeks Belles hand
in marriage, as the relationship grows between Bella and the Beast. Leading to
a emotional ending.

The main 3 Characters are Belle, Gaston and The Beast. Who are all very
different characters that make the play gripping and exciting.

2. Production roles in musical theatre
Producer
Is the person who overseas all aspects of the production. They decide on
financials, writers, directors, and designers. They also handle any legal issues
and the hiring and firing of staff members. The producer chooses the prices of
the tickets, the dates of the performances the advertising and the marketing
of the shows. Also the producer if ticket sales are good gets 50% of the net
profit of the sales, while the other 50% goes to investors, which the producer
had earlier chosen.
Director
They are known as two different things in the trade. Either a theatre director
or a stage director and they control the aspects of the play. Such as the songs
and how they are sung, who plays the main characters, costume design, props,
sound and lighting. However there can be more than one director in the
creation of a play depending on their areas of specialties. A director or the
directors should be motivating to all cast members and help them to thrive in
their roles they have been placed in.
Musical Director
The Musical Director is usually the director of the orchestra or the concert
band. The musical director sits in on the meetings to choose the overall vision
of the show to check the correct message is portrait. The musical director sits
in al the auditions alongside the composer and director. The musical director
has to listen out for clear voices that will fit with the production at hand. They
mostly have to ensure the musical elements of the show go smoothly and
sound at their optimum for the pleasure of the audience.
Choreographer
The choreographer designs the sequences throughout the play. They choose
whom stands where, who moves when and what peoples costumes are. They
choose the dances that are conducted in each scene and plan the number of
people on stage at each time. They oversee the training of the actors to allow
the dance routines to give them the correct look. They have to be quite
adaptive in case there are any issues with some dancers not being able to do
a certain dance move. Finally they work closely with the directors, producer
and designers to get the composure right.
Technical Manager
The Technical manager is someone who controls the technology used within a
corporation. So in musical theatre the lights used the speakers used to give
them an advantage over their competitors shows. Also they have to choose
the right technologies to allow them to work efficiently such as video
auditions. The technical managers job is very important because if anything
3. goes wrong with the technology involved they are the ones in control to fix
and solve the issue before it becomes a problem.
DSM
The Deputy Stage manager is mostly in control of rehearsals and helps actors
rehearse for issues that may occur during the show. Such as the mics not
working or the lights going out. The deputy stage manager chooses if a scene
must be stated again after a technical issue or whether to carry the scene on.
The stage manager assumes the DSM responsibilities.
ASM
The assistant stage managers main job is to maintain the props that the actors
use to ensure they are safe when on stage. Also they may be asked to
estimate audience size, manage backstage technicians. However some of the
less glamorous jobs also fall into the ASMs roles such as mopping the floor
and making Tea and Coffee for staff.
