The document provides an initial plan for a music video for the song "Cannibal" by Ke$ha. It will tell the story of a female cannibal who entices and eats male victims. The video will have a horror theme and portray the main actress in an unsettling, animalistic way. It will include three costume changes for the actress and feature makeup designs that enhance the horror and cannibalism themes. Inspiration is drawn from the disturbing music videos of Rihanna's "Disturbia" and Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi". The target audience is older viewers who will be attracted by the horror elements and focus on the female actress' sexuality and dominance over men.

1. Initial ideas
Song selection = Ke$ha – Cannibal
GENERAL IDEAS
Beginning of the video will start in a gloomy deserted area with leaves blowing across
the floor. The camera will then after circulating the area using a tracking shot position
itself onto the actors in an extreme long shot. What appears to be a dead body will be
on the floor surrounded by blood. The main actress of the video will be positioned
over the body so that her back is to the camera and will make motions so that it
appears she is eating the body. The music will then start and the main actress will then
turn and face the camera. She will then walk towards the camera into an extreme close
up ready for the lyrical start of ‘rargh’. An editing technique will be used to make the
walk towards the camera jolted and uneasy. Fake blood will be used around the main
actress’s mouth so it gives the effect she has been eating the body and white contact
lenses will also be used to add effect so the actress looks like she is demented.
In the first verse a male actor will be used. We decided to connect the visuals on
screen to the lyrics and as we still wanted to portray the actress as a dominant female
we decided that using a male we would be able to show him as an inferior sex and
also the female sex appeal. We will do this by having the actress circulate the male
actor with his gaze constantly upon her. She will do various gestures such as clawing
a pushing him around but in order to show her cannibal side sniff him and tease him
as if she is playing with her food, again linking in with the name of the song. To keep
the creepy theme of the video the gestures will be quick and sharp head and hand
movements will be used to make the actress look not human like.
The first chorus will contain super imposing of the male actor running away in slow
motion looking back with a feared look upon his face. This will interchange between
various shoots of the actress showing her in two different ways. The first way in
which the actress will be shown is in casual clothing rubbing blood across her chest
and arm areas as if she is reminiscing in it leading to a deep gaze into the camera. The
second way in which the actress will be shown is an a animal print costume doing
various dance moves allowing her body to look slightly awkward and disjointed
creating again the un human like element. The chorus will end on an image of the
actress behind a metal fence which will then lead in to the second verse.
COSTUME
In a typical music video the actor/actress has more than one costume change. In order
for ours to fit in with this stereotypically, we will be including 3 costume changes.
Costume 1 – Leather top/bra, Hot pants and stockings – this costume will be used as it
will allow sex appeal of the actress to come through contradicting the whole idea of
the savage song as she is enticing a male audience. (the makeup to be worn with
costume one is dark eye shadow and eyeliner with red lips as theses colours have
sexual and horror connotations allowing the audience to be enticed by the actress and
also linking in with our theme.)

2. Costume 2 – Long top with ripped fish net tights – this costume will be used so that
the idea of a casual is brought in showing the actress is at times a normal teenage girl
allowing the emphasis off the cannibal to be shown through her more revealing
costumes. (the makeup to be worn with the second costume is eyeliner with glitter as
these are key factors related to our artist we are using (Kesha).)
Costume 3 – leopard print leotard with black tights – this costume will be used to link
in the the albumn’s name in which the song comes from (animal) also it links in with
the song name (cannibal) as animals are a prime example of cannibals. The use of
leopard print was chose because it is high in fashion at this period of time and will
therefore link in with our audience. (the makeup to be worn with the third costume is
face pain of leaopard print across one half of the face with black lips. This will be
used so the lips stand out and the idea of the animal is brought to attention as this all
links in with the theme of cannibal as the mouth is the most sexual area on a female
but also deadliest when it comes to cannibals.

Featured actors – James Siggens (a choreographed dance routine may be included in
the video as in the genre dance pop this is stereotypically found, if the decision is
chosen that it will be included several other people will be used in order to make it a
group dance shot)
PROPS
Contact lenses that change the eye colour (preferably white), Fake Blood, Animals
heart from butchers, Face paint, Chairs, Tables, Chains
INSPIRATION
We have taken inspiration from the following music videos:
Rihanna – Disturbia (this particular music video shows the genre of horror well as it
uses different shots and effects to make the artist appear slightly disturbed and un
human like, this is exactly the element we wish to bring to our video)
Lady Gaga – Paparazzi (this music video shows a disturbed female killing her
husband and uses disturbed images and shots throughout to give a uneasy feeling to
the video and towards the artist, again an element in which we hope to perceive in our
video)
NARRATIVE
The storyline will be created from the lyrics and based upon a female with a strong
sex drive attracting males and eating them. A focus on one male will be used as this is
found in the lyrics but overall the central focus will be her enticing the opposite sex
and feasting on them.

3. AUDIENCE
A slight genre of horror is included through the lyrics and the idea of cannibalism.
This allows the male audience to be attracted as this is stereotypically linked in with
them, also through using a female actress and focusing on her sexual attraction this
attracts a male audience. However through the use of the horror genre and the sexual
attraction the audience will be in an older category as it is not suitable for the younger
age group. A female audience will also attracted as Kesha is a well known singer and
popular amongst them, also the idea of a dominant strong female is used through the
actress being able to entice the male sex and eat them which allows females to be
interested as they can be inspired to be more dominant also.
