STAAR*
STAAR End-Of-Course Test
• The test will be 68 multiple choice questions, with four possible 
answer choices 
• The test is a reading test, if you don’t read a question correctly or 
carefully you may not be able to answer the question
• Category 1: History (30 Questions) 
• Category 2: Geography & Culture (12 Questions) 
• Category 3: Government & Citizenship (10 Questions) 
• Category 4: Economics, Science, Technology, and Society (16 
Questions) 
Four Categories of the Test
• Readiness Standards-address broad and deep ideas 
• Supporting Standards-support the overall issues of the course 
• So this test is about critical thinking
