What do we mean by Self-Reliance?
What do we mean by Self-Reliance?
Self-reliance is drawing upon one's own powers
and resources rather than those of others.
Self-sufficiency
self-support
self-standing
independence
You can ultimately use Self-Reliance
to grow, find, and nurture happiness.
What does Self-Reliance look like?
• You can confidently solve problems and make decisions by
yourself and for yourself
• You feel content with yourself and spending time with yourself
• You have self-acceptance, self-knowledge and practice self-
compassion
• You have clear perspective on yourself, people, circumstances and
things
• And with this clear perspective comes directionand right action
• You know what is the right to do at the right time - intuition
Sidenote:It’s important to remember that self-reliance is not about
cutting yourself off from everybody.
Being true to yourself, being capable of independent thought,
knowing your own passions and dreams, being able to pursue them
independently of others’ judgments is not the same as isolating
yourself from society.
