The organization developed a course for the future and incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit in 2010-2011. It received 501c3 status approval in May 2013. Since then it has accomplished several goals like establishing membership management, giving breastfeeding awards to supportive businesses and individuals, conducting public education events, celebrating World Breastfeeding Week annually, increasing Facebook engagement, holding a special symposium with a guest speaker, addressing pumping time issues with the NBME, educating about human milk sharing, maintaining an educational website, and has goals for 2014 like establishing a breastmilk pump loan program for bereaved mothers and adding lactation room sites as a web resource.
