1. Introduction to CAD
• CAD is the acronym for Computer Aided Design.
•It deals with the drawings made using computer
software.
• CAD has developed in order to get the
accuracy without making much human effort.
•It is used in designing of tools, machinery &
buildings. It is a versatile one.

2. CAD uses
• It is used by many engineers & designers in the
following fields either integrated or
independent.
I. CAE- Computer Aided Engineering.
II.FEA - Finite Element Analysis.
III.CAM – Computer Aided Manufacturing.
•CAD is very useful in parameterization,
constraining & in determining parameters of
an object.

3. CAD types
There are many types of CAD softwares, which
are used by professionals & learners depending
upon their feasibility and their usage. The
following are some CAD softwares.
• AUTOCAD
• INVENTOR
• UNIGRAPHICS
• SOLIDWORKS

4. CAD technology
• Initially CAD software was developed using
computer languages like Fortran, ALGOL.
• With the new technology the CAD systems are
built up with interactions of GUI(Graphical
User Interface), Boundary Representation(B-
Rep)

5. UI Introduction
• In every CAD software the introduction the
opening will be in a space with 3 dimensions.
• I would love to explain about the UNIGAPHICS
in the next video, following will be the open
opening image when you start UNIGRAPHICS.
