Excel
• Excel is a spreadsheet program used
to store, organize, and calculate data.
• Used in business reports, budgeting,
salary sheets, charts, etc.

• - Title Bar

Parts
Rows, Columns,
and Cells
• Rows → Horizontal
(1,2,3…)
• Columns → Vertical
(A,B,C…)
• Cells → Intersection
(A1, B2, etc.)
Basic
Data
Entry
• • Type numbers or text into cells.
• • Press Enter to move down, Tab
to move right.
• Exercise:

Formatting Basics
• Bold, Italic, Underline

Basic Calculations
• Excel works like a calculator.
• Use '=' before formulas.
Examples:
=2+2 → 4
=10-3 → 7
=5*5 → 25
=20/4 → 5
AutoSum Feature
• Select a column
of numbers.
• Click Σ AutoSum
to calculate the
total.
Simple Functions
• =SUM(A1:A5) → Adds
numbers
• =AVERAGE(A1:A5) →
Finds average
• =MAX(A1:A5) → Largest
number
• =MIN(A1:A5) → Smallest
number
Sorting &
Filtering
• Sort → Arrange
data (A to Z or Z to
A).
• Filter → Show
only what you want
(e.g., only Delhi
from list).
Charts (Basic)
• Select data →
