1. This document outlines the teaching scheme and objectives for the Basic Electrical Engineering course (EN010 108) offered at M.G. University.
2. The course is divided into 5 modules covering topics such as Kirchhoff's laws, magnetic circuits, electromagnetic induction, AC circuits, DC machines, transformers, 3-phase systems, induction motors, synchronous generators, power generation and transmission.
3. The objectives are to provide an overview of electrical engineering fields and prepare students for advanced topics.
This 3-day planning course has been designed for engineering managers and engineers who work for owners and operators of both high and low voltage electricity networks in the range from 230/415V to 132kV. The delegates will get a full understanding of issues associated with planning of MV and LV electricity networks via a practical approach that contains worked and delegate examples. The course will introduce planning concepts, various network configurations along with protection systems and the types of equipment used in typical systems. It also covers fault level, power quality, harmonics, power factor, cable ratings, earthing and lightning protection.

This paper proposes a single-stage three-phase rectifier with high-frequency isolation, power factor correction, and bidirectional power flow. The presented topology is adequate for dc grids (or smart-grids), telecommunications (telecom) power supplies, and more recent applications such as electric vehicles. The converter is based on the three-phase version of the dual active bridge (DAB) associated with the three-state-switching cell (3SSC), whose power flow between the primary and secondary sides is controlled by the phase-shift angle. A theoretical analysis is presented and validated through simulation and experimental.

In this lab, students take all the information they need for all kinds of machines, such as the generators, motors, and transformers, and in the laboratory, they begin to link the theoretical material to the practical part and learns about its components, the Principle of work, characteristics, features, methods of testing, operation, diagnosis of faults and the
necessary maintenance for each machine separately. The creation of an Electrical Machines Lab at Palestine Technical University gives students the opportunity to gain some real world experience in electrical machines.
Moreover, a laboratory of this type facilitates educational opportunities. It also provides numerous additional benefits such as research.

Transient Power Quality Performance of Multi Photovoltaics using MPPT P and ...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
This paper presents comparative performance of transient power quality due to multi photovoltaic (PV) integration to grid at both fixed temperature and solar irradiation connected using Maximum Power Point Tracking Perturb and Observe (MPPT P and O)/MPPT Fuzzy. This research is performed as five transient of short-circuit faults on point common coupling (PCC) bus. An artificial intelligence with fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is used to set duty cycle with step variable to control DC/DC boost converter, generate quick convergence to determine MPPT for controlling of PV output voltage. Furthermore the result is compared with MPPT P and O. During transient phase, non-symmetrical faults are able to result an unbalance current/voltage greater than symmetrical faults. On symmetrical faults, MPPT Fuzzy is able to resultan average THD voltage/THD current smaller than MPPT P and O. Otherwise on non-symmetrical faults, MPPT P and O is able to resultan average THD voltage/THD current slightly smaller than MPPT Fuzzy. Both of MPPT P and O and MPPT Fuzzy on all short circuit faults during transient phase are able to result significantly smaller current average THD current than average THD voltage and limits of THD prescribed in IEEE 519. This research is simulated using Matlab/Simulink environment.

This experiment demonstrates to engineering students that control system and power system theory are not orthogonal, but highly interrelated. It introduces a real-world power system problem to enhance time domain State Space Modelling (SSM) skills of students. It also shows how power quality is affected with real-world scenarios. Power system was modeled in State Space by following its circuit topology in a bottom-up fashion. At two different time instances of the power generator sinusoidal wave, the transmission line was switched on. Fourier transform was used to analyze resulting line currents. It validated the harmonic components, as expected, from power system theory. Students understood the effects of switching transients at various times on supply voltage sinusoid within control theory and learned time domain analysis. They were surveyed to gauge their perception of the project. Results from a before/after assessment analyzed usingT-Tests showed a statistically significant enhanced learning in SSM.
VITEEE 2015 is going to be conducted by CBSE during April 2015 to take admission into various Universities and Institutions. The Syllabus is based on CBSE 10+2 exam system covering class 11 & 12 syllabus.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Module I (10 hours)

Three phase system – generation of three phase voltage – star and delta system – relation between

measurement – Single wattmeter, two wattmeter and three wattmeter methods.
Induction motors – principle of operation of three phase induction motors – applications of cage and
slip ring induction motor – single phase induction motors – capacitor start / run, shaded pole –
universal motors - Applications.
Synchronous generator (Alternator) – principles of operation and types.
Module V (12 hours)
Generation of electric power – types of generation – hydroelectric, thermal and nuclear (Block
schematic and layout only) - Non conventional energy sources – solar, wind, tidal, wave and
geothermal.
