Why is this artist interested in creating environmentally
friendly works? What inspired the artist?
 As a kid Barry use to find waste materials to
transform into remarkable creatures. So what ever
he found he used it to make things. Most of his time
he went to the mountainsides, lakes and rivers. Also
all his work are different they all have different
material and Viewing these eco sculptures make
your imagination create your own interpretations. He
was also influenced by his grandfather’s great love of
nature.
Firstly he finds all the material he can find then
he plans what he will make also he likes to
make things from the familiar, things that
people might have around their house or
garage. Then designs what he will make.
After he starts to make it.
How were the sculptures created/What’s the process?
What materials does the artist use to create
their sculptures?
Barry says :Someone might chuck a bike into a
river, then I’ll pull it out and turn part of it into
a gigantic metal fish,” he says. “Often a bit of
rubbish is the beginning of a whole animal.”
Barry makes his sculptures out of any material
he can find and turns it into his own work.
