Greek costumes in ancient times consisted of simple tunics for both men and women. Men's tunics left one shoulder exposed while women's were longer and more concealing. By the Elizabethan era hundreds of years later in England, fashion had become more elaborate with men wearing hose, doublets, and cloaks and women wearing farthingales and elaborate dresses and headdresses.
