- However, with endless requests from clients, candidates, and internal employees, it’s difficult to slow down to evaluate, set strategy and execute. In this session
-We will share tips on leveraging the data from your ATS and CRM to drive (and potentially automate) activity to increase both efficiency and results.
Keynote talk at Financial Times Forum - BigData and Advanced Analytics at SIB...Usama Fayyad
The document provides an overview of big data and predictive analytics. It discusses the volume, velocity, and variety characteristics of big data. It also covers some of the issues with big data like its messy and unstructured nature. Several case studies are presented, including how Yahoo! uses big data for online marketing through behavioral targeting. The goal is to turn the three V's of big data (volume, velocity, variety) into business value by understanding context, sentiment, and user intent from large amounts of diverse data.
This document discusses how small businesses can benefit from analyzing big data. It defines big data as large volumes of data from various sources that are created quickly. While big data was once only for large companies, small businesses already have customer data from their website, social media, emails, and CRM that can be analyzed. The document provides examples of how small businesses can use big data for social listening, customer service, and trends/forecasting. It then offers advice on getting started with big data solutions, including using CRM software and analytics tools, and introduces Tabor Consulting as a provider that can help small businesses with big data needs.
SharePoint adoption is a very tricky subject. The best planned and designed SharePoint portals can fail if users don’t adopt to SharePoint. Gartner surveys say that more than 50% of SharePoint implementations fail due to poor user adoption. With millions of dollars spent each year on SharePoint deployments, this becomes quite significant. SharePoint adoption starts with proper planning, implementation and governance. In order to have sustained user engagement, new techniques like gamification are also emerging. This session will focus on all these aspects and will provide the attendees ideas and tools to implement for their SharePoint portal. Attendees will be presented with the challenges currently being faced with SharePoint deployments centered around adoption, best practices around planning and governance will be discussed, and ideas for SharePoint gamificaiton will also be presented.
Adoption Tactics; Why Your End Users Will Rant & Rave Over SharePoint 2013 #S...Gina Montgomery, V-TSP
Gina Montgomery will be presenting at the SharePoint Saturday event in Albany on building effective end user adoption plans. Her presentation will cover why SharePoint intranets often fail due to poor user adoption, the importance of governance and information architecture in adoption, and how gamification can be used. She will also demo new features in SharePoint 2013 and take questions. The goal of the event is to help organizations better utilize SharePoint to share information, manage business processes and bring social computing to improve productivity.
The document discusses the differences between SharePoint and Yammer as social tools. It notes that SharePoint is better for structured data, top-down communication, and formal processes, while Yammer enables informal many-to-many communication and easy adoption. It recommends using both tools together to avoid overwhelming teams, with Yammer for real-time collaboration and SharePoint to store documents and information. The document includes examples of how Microsoft uses Yammer and provides tips on successful social tool implementation.
SharePoint Saturday Belgium 2014 - Who needs Yammer when there is SharePointBIWUG
The document compares and contrasts SharePoint and Yammer as social tools. It notes that SharePoint is better for structured data, top-down communication, and formal processes and policies, while Yammer is better for informal communication in a less hierarchical structure. It advocates using both tools together rather than choosing one over the other. Practical examples and demos of how Microsoft uses Yammer are also provided.
Big data refers to large and complex datasets that are difficult to analyze using traditional database management tools. These datasets come from various sources like enterprise applications, social media, the internet, and mobile devices. While big data tools allow users to search and analyze this vast amount of information, not all available data is captured. However, when properly utilized, big data can provide insights into trends, customer sentiments, and answer questions about why certain events occurred. Big data is creating new opportunities for businesses through job opportunities in data science, identifying new trends for investment, detecting fraudulent activities, and helping governments analyze security systems.
Clickstream Data Warehouse - Turning clicks into customersAlbert Hui
As web is becoming a main channel for reaching customers and prospects, Clickstream data generated by websites has become another important enterprise data source, like other traditional business data sources, like store transactions, CRM data, call center’s logs etc. As simple as it sounds for recording every click a customer made, Clickstream data actually offers a wide range of opportunities for modelling user behaviour, gaining valuable customer insights. This is definitely a data source which has been under utilized. However, benefits also come with a problem. Amazon records 5 Billion clicks a day and the whole US generates 400 Billion clicks, equivalent to 3.4 Petabytes a day. This immense volume has given enterprises and their IT professionals a big data problem before they can fully utilize this insight-rich data source.
This presentation will use big data technology to help solve this big data problem; the presenter will explain everything about Clickstream data, like benefits, challenges and the solution. The end-to-end solution will include proposed data architecture, ETL, and various machine learning algorithms. A real world successful example will also be presented for audience to better grasp the concept and its applications. Sample codes and demo will also be presented for audience to apply in their respective areas.
This document provides an overview of data science and how to get started in the field. It defines data science and the roles of data scientists. It also outlines the data science process of framing questions, collecting and cleaning data, exploring patterns, and communicating results. Examples are given of how companies like LinkedIn and Netflix used data science to improve their businesses. The document recommends learning tools like SQL, analytics software, and machine learning algorithms and describes a data science bootcamp program for gaining these skills through mentorship and hands-on projects.

Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
