This document discusses issues with using the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study methodology to measure health. It notes that the GBD asks participants to compare different health states based on physical and mental limitations, but that health involves more than just limitations. There is no clear explanation of how to construct a scalar measure of limitations. Additionally, the types of comparisons people make in the studies do not actually seem focused on limitations. The document raises questions about what the high correlations in disability weights across countries actually represent.

The document outlines different types of cheating like memory modification, code/data injection, saved game modification, and network traffic modification. It also provides examples of cheating tools and techniques developers can use for protection like encryption, code obfuscation, multiple save files, and third party verification software. The document concludes that the most powerful protection against cheating is a developer's creativity in game design.
Introduction into Procedural Content Generation by Yogie AdityagamelanYK
Procedural content generation (PCG) refers to automatically creating game content through algorithms rather than human design. PCG aims to generate a large variety of content from a few parameters. It is not completely random, but uses techniques from AI, math, and other fields to structure the randomness. PCG offers opportunities like high content diversity, faster creation, lower costs, and adaptive gameplay, but also faces challenges like ensuring variety, aesthetics, and multiplayer compatibility. Successful PCG combines domain knowledge, AI techniques, structured randomness, and other specialized algorithms.

This document outlines Dan Hausman's critique of economic evaluations of health that rely on eliciting and aggregating individual preferences. Hausman argues that preferences are an unreliable guide to the value of health states for several reasons. People's preferences can be distorted by cognitive flaws and irrelevant factors. They are also often uninformed since health states are unfamiliar alternatives. Rather than relying on preferences, Hausman believes health economists should directly evaluate health states based on their effects on well-being, opportunities, autonomy, and other considerations.

An article about mobile application development platforms and Android application development. I have written this report for Advanced Composition class.
Mobile application development is the process of creating software applications for mobile phones and other portable devices. These apps can be preinstalled, downloaded from app stores, or delivered as web apps. When estimating costs for mobile app development, there are many factors to consider such as the type of app, project size, targeted operating systems, whether to use an independent developer or firm, and requirements for maintenance and support. Development costs can range from $50-200 per hour for individual developers or be quoted as a fixed price by agencies.
Android is the world's most popular mobile platform, powering hundreds of millions of devices globally. It offers developers a large user base and open marketplace in Google Play to distribute apps. With over 1.5 billion app downloads per month from Google Play, Android provides developers opportunities for growth and revenue through its large and growing installed base around the world.
Although both Apple and Android apps are relevant and essential in today’s competitive business environment, it is important to understand the pros and cons of both.
Android is an open-source, mobile operating system based on Linux. It is used widely in smartphones, tablets and other devices. Some key points about Android are:
- It has a large community and regular security updates from Google.
- Over 70% of mobile users have Android devices, making it important for developing applications.
- Android allows customization and independent app distribution through stores like Google Play.
- Basic knowledge of Java/Kotlin, XML and SQLite is required for Android development.
Mobile apps are computer programs designed to run on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. They contrast with desktop apps which run on computers and web apps which run in mobile browsers. Popular app stores include the Apple App Store and Google Play where most apps are downloaded. Developers must consider the constraints of mobile devices like smaller screens and battery life when building apps. Successful monetization strategies for apps include the freemium model with in-app purchases and advertising in free apps.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!
