2. Overview
This is an evaluative commentary, reflecting
on decisions made and explaining how
codes and conventions and media language
have been employed to convey messages
about representation.

3. Structure
• PARAGRAPH 1: an account of the research and
planning carried out commenting how important it
was
• PARAGRAPH 2: how the production is targeted at a
particular target audience
• PARAGRAPH 3: using technical terminology explain
the ways in which media language has been used in
to communicate representation. Discuss areas of
mise en scene (setting, clothing, body language,
lighting, props), shot sizes/angles, fonts used
• PARAGRAPH 4: an explanation of the ways in
which codes and conventions have been used in the
production exercise to communicate
representation
• PARAGRAPH 5: an evaluation of the strengths and
weaknesses within the finished production.
