• Route filters can dramatically reduce the number of IP prefixes advertised over ExpressRoute into your network. You can

excited to announce that we have ported Azure Functions to .NET Core 2.0!
Both the runtime and the Azure Functions Core Tools are now cross-platform.
Now, you can debug C# and JavaScript functions on a Mac or Linux using the
Core Tools and Visual Studio Code. Both the runtime and the Core Tools are
still in preview and we welcome your feedback!

In Azure Dev Test Labs, you can now claim a VM, use it, and unclaim it when

New Features
Azure App Service and Azure Functions now support creating and using
system-managed identities to work with other Azure resources. This allows
apps to easily integrate with services such as Azure Key Vault, without
requiring any service principal management from the app or development

New Features
Today (23 September) we are excited to announce the public preview of
exporting APIs to Microsoft PowerApps and Flow. Hooray to the deep linking,
you no longer need to manually download the OpenAPI (Swagger) definition
of an API from APIM and import it into PowerApps or Flow. When you export
an API, APIM will call the PowerApps/Flow environments to create a custom
connector for you.

23. Graph support in Azure SQL Database
Graph databases address this by introducing simple constructs of nodes and relationships into linked
structures to enable sophisticated modeling. Azure SQL Database will now offer fully integrated graph
extensions, so users can define graph schema with graph objects. T-SQL language extensions will help users

Adaptive Query Processing support for Azure SQL Database
SQL Server 2017 and Azure SQL Database introduce a new generation of query processing improvements

adaptive joins, batch mode memory grant feedback, and interleaved execution for multi-statement table

The Azure Data Lake Analytics service can now help you easily organize, manage, and gain insights from
Data Lake Analytics jobs that are running as part of pipelines or on a recurring basis. New capabilities
enable you to: Quickly identify jobs in pipelines that might have failed or taken longer than expected. Get
the aggregated statistics (job counts, successful and failed AU hours, and so on) for a pipeline or a recurring
instance so you can better understand the resource consumption and cost trends.

28. Get insights into your Azure CosmosDB: partition heatmaps, OMS, and more
We are excited to announce Diagnostics Logs for data plane operations, which enable you to get a full
audit of who accessed your Azure Cosmos DB collections and when.
We announce the availability of a subset of Azure Cosmos DB metrics via Azure Monitor API. Now you can
use tools like Grafana to access your metrics, with Operations Management Suite integration coming soon.

Text Analytics API is now generally available.
Bing Custom Search API and Bing Search APIs v7 will be generally available in October.

QnAMaker preview API is now enabling to build, train and publish a simple question and answer bot from
product manuals.
We’re expanding Face API, Computer Vision API and Content Moderator in 7 additional regions - South
Central US, West US2, East US, Brazil, North Europe, Australia East and East Asia.
To enable developers to build for the intelligent edge, Custom Vision Service from Microsoft Cognitive
Services has added mobile model export.

31. Azure Data Lake Store + Azure Analysis Services
Support for Azure Data Lake Store (ADLS) is now available in Azure Analysis Services and in SQL Server
Data Tools (SSDT). Now you can augment your big data analytics workloads with rich interactive analysis for
selected data subsets at the speed of thought! Business users can consume Azure Analysis Services models
in Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Office Excel, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Azure Data Lake
Analytics (ADLA) can be used to run U-SQL batch jobs directly against the source data, such as to generate
targeted output files that Azure Analysis Services can import with less overhead.

Firewall support for Azure Analysis Services
