Preface
In this section the teacher states his/her philosophy and vision of teaching and
academic lifetime.
My Philosophy of Teaching
I never consider myself as a leader since in my view the process of learning
starts with questions and answers. As such, I follow the Socratic Method in
teaching.
I would like to play that role of the Guide rather than the role of the
explorer for students. As a guide, I only highlight the landmarks for the
students whereas searching and discovering the facts will be the duties of
students.
Throughout the long years of teaching in the university, the students with
low standard of learning have always been my focus in teaching. I follow
this method because I think that if I can help such a student improve
his/her level, it will be much easier for the others to learn faster. In brief,
for me learning starts from below and step by step it goes higher.
While teaching, I never feel tired; teaching gives me utmost pleasure since
not only the students learn and obtain new knowledge, but I myself most of
the time learn from the fault of students. Thus, critical and creative
thinking will be the outcome of the process for me and for the students as
well .
