Inclusion and Diversity is a hot topic, intuitively we all know that it matters but what is done on a daily basis to encourage and tolerate differences in the business world? We know that business suffers when employees feel they can't bring their whole selves to work, that customers expect businesses to share their values and have a greater sense of purpose, that people want to work for companies that support and promotes differences for a better, stronger, happier environment.
Business is so influential in our culture, in our communities and in our collective understanding, that to endorse diversity and inclusion simply because it is good for business falls short. And it sends the message that the only reason we are pursuing corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives is because it is good for business…

1. Ayana Chisholm
Sales, Project Management, and Healthcare Administration Management
I have been with The News Journal for almost 5 years. I have achieved my goals quarter over
quarter and year over year. I have exceeded my goal by at least 10% – 30% month over month
for the past 12 - 18 months. On January 29th
2016 I won an award for being the number 1 sales
person throughout the year of 2015 and am on track to continue my success. During my tenure as
a Senior Pharmaceutical Sales Representative II at Reliant Pharmaceuticals and now as an
Advertising Executive at The News Journal Media Group, I am consistently able to perform
above the nation and many of my peers. I perform above average in my sales positions because
of my professionalism, drive for success, attention to detail, and teamwork. I know that goal
setting, preparation, planning, and organization are golden keys to success and I continuously
implement them in all situations. I am currently one of the top sales people on my team.
I recently completed my fifth year working as a contracted case manager for the State of
Delaware. Part of my job was to ensure that my families with disabilities were aware of and able
to participate in and receive all of the services that the State of Delaware has to offer. A large
part of my job entailed keeping detailed records of each family’s situation and addressing and
reporting any short comings. Another part entailed communicating, educating, and interacting
with schools, physicians, insurance companies, therapists and other professionals to ensure that
the needs of these families were properly handled. A huge part of this job was being organized,
managing my time, managing others, and being able to educate and communicate on many
different levels with diverse groups of people.
I have strong relational and sales skills with a commitment to results! I enjoy interacting and
communicating with diverse groups of people. I have demonstrated the ability to work the ‘total
office’. I have exemplified accountability, teamwork, and the ability to set and achieve
challenging goals. I understand the framework of a successful working company and its
directives, which include integrity, excellence, transparency, accountability and respect. I am
dedicated to helping and encouraging my team and others around me to use their strengths to
make them stronger. I have a firm belief in pulling the team together and using each person’s
strengths to help others on the team continue to be successful. I am great at solving problems,
managing projects, and analyzing procedures for possible better solutions.
I enjoy handling multiple tasks and I know that I will be an asset to your company because of my
demonstrated sales, analytical, time and project management, organizational, and team building
skills. I have worked with many professionals, physicians, and their staff members in the
Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas over the past 10 - 14 years and have built strong
relationships with them. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss my credentials and
qualifications further.
Thank you in advance for reviewing my resume and considering me as a candidate with your
company.
Sincerely
