2. The idea
The Oil&Gas industry as well as the utility sector have a particular problem: when
catastrophic events happens, manmade or natural like hurricanes, storms and severe
weather events occur - which are more and more often and severe due to climate
change and extreme environment operations - they have platforms, pipelines,
powerlines and infrastrucutures that are affected. After that, they have to have
vehicles and surveyors to do inspection before they can turn back to normal
operation or start any repairs. ASAv can also do regular inspection (natural/biogas
methane leakage, power lines, etc).
3. 3
The idea
That's where the SP ASAv comes in. The ASAv will do the inspection much faster
than the typical way of using surveyors and vehicles to go there and have to fly all
these miles of pipelines and infrastructures. Once the ASAv is launched it then flies
to the inspection area and it gets within sensor range of pipelines, electrical lines
and other structures so that it can get a good picture for inspection conclusions.
The ASAv uses sonars and cameras to investigate the structures so that the oil&gas
and utility companies have the evidence that they can operate their assets and
deliver energy in the safest way possible. Moreover the ASAv is design to operate
in extreme conditions like flammable or radioactive atmosphere where man cannot
usually go just after a catastrophic event.
4. The value proposition: combine Saab Skeldar V-200, SP Elkraft Mätteknik, JTI UAV
erfarenhet och SP ETX
• For Utility Companies. Alt. Oil & Gas operators
• Who need to survey installations after catastrophic events
• The SP ASAv is a drone with dedicated sensors
• That remotely and autonomously survey installations after a catastrophic event
• Unlike existing drones it is designed to withstand extreme conditions
(flammable atmospheres, high temperatures , radioactivity)
• Our product will accelerate the survey of installations after extreme events (cf.
Gudrun storm)
