This document discusses automating a ration shop using a programmable logic controller (PLC). It aims to create a cost-effective and transparent system to ensure food security. Key components include a level sensor to measure materials, a counting section using conveyors and sensors, and an LDR sensing circuit to automate the distribution process. The goal is to reduce corruption and reliably distribute rations in an efficient manner.
3. INTRODUCTION
• Rationing was first introduced in Bombay in 1939
by British Govt. so as to ensure equitable food grain
to urban consumer in face of rice prices
• Basic objective was price stabilization
• Around 35% of India’s population—320 million
people are considered food insecure, consuming less
than 80% of minimum food requirements.

5. LEVEL SENSOR
The level station consist of three containers-
Reservoir/storage tank
Measuring chamber
Collecting flask

6. COUNTING SECTION
• Conveyors are able to safely transport materials
from one level to another
•LED and LDR are placed in opposite position

8. SOLID MEASUREMENT
• Two of the gauges are usually in tension, and two in
compression, and are wired with compensation
adjustments
• When weight is applied, the strain changes the
electrical resistance of the gauges in proportion to
the load.

9. ADVANTAGES
• Bring transparent
• Reliability
• Not only ensure the system reliability, but also
benefit for software upgrade
• PLC/DCS along with upper computer raises the
system reliability

10. CONCLUSION
• Our paper focused on to bring out cost-effective,
corruption free and transparent system
• The Ration Shop is a critical resource for the food
security of the poor, especially the urban poor, and
particularly women, who manage household food
supplies
