The Rise and Legacy of Augustus

• He ruled an empire that stretched from Spain to Judea
• He took sole power of Rome in 27 B.C.
• The people of Rome worshiped him
• His rule marked 200 years of peace called the pax Romana
• When Julius Caesar adopted him and he was already an adult
• He was 77 when he died
• His real name was Gaius Octavious
• He brought the roman empire to its golden age
• He is one of the most famous emperors in history
• He was born September 23 63 B.C.
• Augustus divorced his spouse for a girl named Livia

• He was famous for destroying the pompeys in the punic war
• He was killed on December 7th 43 B.C.
• He was also remembered for his materty of latin pros
• He was the greatest speaber out of all them in Rome
• He practiced law and studied philosophy
• He lead a rising sequence of important jobs in the roman empire
• In 64 B.C. he became consul the highest office in Rome

• When Julius was young he went to Rhodes to study or adored

• Then he had the pirates executed

6. Romulus and Remus
• They founded Rome
• Their father was mars god of war
• Their mother was a Latin princess
• The Latin king put them in a basket and abandoned them
• The king thought they were going to take his throne so he left them die
• A female wolf found them and fed them her milk
• Finally some shepherds rescued the twins and raised them as there own kids
• After growing up the boys decided to build a city in the place were they were born
• Each brother decided to rule one part of the city
• They each chose a hill from which to rule there city from
• One day they got into a fight because one had more city
• Romulus killed Remus during the fight
