My name is Peter, and I am writing to inquire and apply for a position of Architectural Design
Professional, in Michigan.
As an A.R.E 5 candidate with 8 years of professional experience under multiple licensed architects,
along with 5 years of educational experience at an NAAB accredited university. I believe I would
make a valuable addition to your team. I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the
University of Minnesota (NAAB), Minneapolis in 2000. In 2005 I registered in classes in presentation
techniques (Eugene Kohn KPF) at Harvard University GSD. In 2016, I finished my Master of Science
in Architecture Degree at the University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois. While in Graduate School, I
wrote 2 papers in Research Methods class. I completed IRB-1, and submitted two research
abstracts/proposals to the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA). I was selected to
present both research papers in a double-blind review process, awarded a scholarship from EDRA and
the University of Illinois (traveling scholarship) to present my two research papers at EDRA64 in Los
Angeles (2016), getting published! “Architectural Settings: Their effect on our perceptions,
spearheading new cognitive and neural restoration methods”.
I am currently striving to become a licensed Minnesota/Michigan architect, to fulfill my personal
aspirations and to become more knowledgeably well rounded in my unfolding architectural career
path. As the tides of my life turn, I am looking to settle down in the place I was born, finally call it my
own.
Salary: Negotiable
Summary of Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations
• Familiar with Architectural vernacular, project processes (design/working drawings), and
observation in the field.
• This is my ‘second time around’ at an older age, working towards completing the new
ARE 5.0., and becoming a licensed architect.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
• Architectural software skills: Revit, Auto-Cad, SketchUp, 3D Studio Viz, 3D Studio Max,
Adobe Premier/Photoshop/PageMaker/After-Effects, AVI modeling & animation skills.
• Architectural skills: model building, light studies, design resolution, working drawings and
details, working with other trades involved in the project scope, plan desk experience.
• Computer software skills: Book-Ends, Google Translate, Google Scholar, Sweets, UBC,
CABO, MSWord, Excel, Power-Point, and data entry
• Good ethic: ability to work in a fast paced environment with excellent follow through
