From the perspective of activity theory, it can be argued that the major challenge in relation to implementing interprofessional education (IPE) could be embraced as contradictions that may lead to change. Patients have complex health needs and typically require insight from more than one discipline to address issues regarding their health status (Lumague et al. 2006). The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that institutions engaged in health professional education and training consider implementing IPE in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs (WHO, 2010). The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of IPECP for health care professionals, faculty members, and students. Methods: The survey instrument contained four scales to evaluate faculty attitudes toward IPE and teamwork, adapted from the methods of Curran et al. (2007). Each scale asked respondents to rate their attitudes toward statements on a 5-point Likert scale (1=strongly disagree; 2=disagree; 3=neutral; 4=agree; 5=strongly agree). The initial factor extractions were performed by means of principal components analysis. To define the model structure more clearly, an exploratory factor analysis using varimax rotation was conducted. The level of significance was p<.0001 for all tests. Results: As shown in Table 2, the Kaiser–Meyer-Olkin index was 0.902, indicating sampling adequacy, and the Bartlett Sphericity Chi-Square index was 2246.5 (p <0.0001). Cronbach’s alpha for the 14 items was 0.731, revealing a high rate of internal consistency. The modified Attitude toward health care team scores (ATHCTS) questionnaire was categorized into four factors: “Quality of care,” “Team efficiency,” “Patient-centered care,” and “Negative factors.” Conclusion: Findings suggest that the positive attitude of health care professionals, faculty members and students towards IPE indicates the need for IPE training by Azjargal Baatar, Sumberzul Nyamjav and Oyuntsetseg Sandag 2020. Data of the study conducted in January 2014 on 240 students studying in the first, second and third classes of a nursing department of a university were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 17 questions in total. The data obtained as a result of the study were analyzed using numeric and percentage distribution in computer environment. It was found that 50% of the students in the study identified the nursing process as providing appropriate nursing care specific to the patient, 73.3% had difficulties in the nursing process, and 36.2% pointed the lecturer to be the source of difficulty. On the other hand, students stated that the nursing process was beneficial to students by increasing knowledge (45.8%) and to patients by preventing lack of care (58.2%). The result of this study suggests that students who find the nursing process useful for both the patient and themselves and who have difficulty in all phases of the nursing process should apply the nursing process on more cases.

This study examined musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among 100 medical care professionals working in two hospitals in Lorestan, Iran. The most common areas of pain reported were back pain (26% of participants at the first hospital and 20% at the second) and neck pain (20% at both hospitals). The majority (87-88%) of participants stated they did not receive treatment or pain management for their MSDs. While most (64%) felt stress was not associated with their pain, 36% reported their pain worsened with increased stress. The high rates of MSDs among these medical professionals suggests preventative measures are needed to address causes like improper posture and mechanics.

Nurses play an important role in supporting patients with any illness who often seek information regarding alternative therapy. Within their scope of practice, it is expected that nurses have sufficient knowledge about the safety and effective use of alternative therapies, and positive attitudes toward supporting patients who wish to use such therapies. An alternative therapy refers to the health treatments which go along with the medical care, and it is based on natural and traditional methods. It includes natural therapies, herbal medicines yoga, aromatherapy, batch flower medicines, spiritual therapies etc. They offer people the chance to try therapies outside of their standard medical care. These treatment methods are totally different from allopathic medical practices. An evaluative approach with one group pre test, post test design was used for this study. The study was conducted in selected rural areas of Tamilnadu. The samples comprised of 600 health professionals. Convenient sampling technique was used to select the samples. Data was collected using structured knowledge questionnaire before and after administering the structured health education program. The study proved their knowledge improved remarkably after administering the education. The findings of the study support the need for providing information to improve the knowledge of the health professionals regarding complementary therapies in the perspectives of integrating health care shift towards alternative therapies. So the findings have also proved that the information booklet was effective in terms of gain in knowledge scores. This study assessed burnout levels among staff nurses working in an intensive care unit (ICU) at a tertiary hospital in Chennai, India. Rates of stress and burnout are higher for nurses compared to other healthcare professionals, with about 40% of hospital nurses experiencing burnout. The study aimed to assess burnout levels among ICU nurses using a rating scale. A sample of 30 nurses working in the ICU of Chettinad Super Specialty Hospital were selected using purposive sampling. Results found that 48% of nurses had inadequate knowledge of burnout in the pre-test, which decreased to 30% with moderate knowledge in the post-test after the study intervention. 2) Most patients had inadequate knowledge before the program, but after receiving the teaching, 92% had adequate knowledge.

A quantitative descriptive research design was used to assess the impact of menstruation on academic performance among female nursing students of GNM Ist year at Rohilkhand School of nursing, Bareilly, UP. 50 female nursing students of GNM Ist year were selected through convenient sampling technique. The data were collected by assessment checklist of menstrual symptoms and academic performance. The result showed that28 56 were heavy abdomen cramp during menstruation, 34 68 students were getting anger during their periods,27 54 were having sleep disturbance, 36 72 were reported that they had pelvic pain, 32 64 students were having fatigue tiredness and 28 56 students having irritability during menstruation. The academic performance findings shows that 29 58 were not having interest to go to the college during menstruation33 66 were said that they had a feeling of hesitation to go for practical classes, 27 54 were not having interest to write their examination during menstruation, 28 66 were not able to complete their assignment in time and 26 52 students were having feeling of inferiority during menstruation. There was significant association between menstrual symptoms of abdominal cramps, anger, sleep disturbance, pelvic pain, fatigue, irritability, forgetfulness, headache, generalized body ache, loss of appetite, nausea vomiting, mood swings, breast tenderness and constipation with their selected baseline data of marital status, duration of menstrual cycle, regularity of menstruation, experience of menstrual symptoms and treatment of menstrual discomfort. The study concluded that that the menstrual symptoms having a major impact on academic performance of female students. So the study findings suggested the students need counseling or related facilities to reduce the effect of menstrual symptoms on academic performance. This study examined factors predicting oral health behaviors among 351 female students in Tehran, Iran using an expanded health belief model. The study found that 31.8% of students reported brushing less than twice daily and 55.2% reported using dental floss once a week or less. Logistic regression analysis identified perceived self-efficacy, commitment to plan, and cues to action as significant predictors of brushing twice daily. Perceived self-efficacy was also found to predict using dental floss once daily or more. The results suggest the expanded health belief model provides an effective framework for designing oral health education programs to improve behaviors in students.

In India, Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI) including Sexually transmitted Diseases (STDs) produce a huge disease burden. Nursing staff plays a major role in prevention of STI/RTIs. So this study was conducted aimed to know the knowledge about STIs/RTIs of nursing personnel of a tertiary care hospital of Rajasthan. 100 nursing professionals were supervised for practice and interrogated for attitude and knowledge as per a semi- structured schedule. It was found that overall mean score of nurses was 56% and only 52% had scores passing marks (>50%). Although this knowledge about STI/RTI was not found to be associated religion, caste, type of family and socio-economic status but it was found to be associated with sex, marital status and education of nurses. It was also found in this study that gap of training decreases the knowledge and number of training increases the knowledge. It was found to be associated with department where the nurses were working. So all the nurses irrespective of place of posting should be given refresher trainings at regular intervals.

This research is quantitative research with cross sectional design research obtained by using the technique of sampling means that 28 nurses. Linier regression test results revealed that the work load (p=0,001) has a relationship with the work fatigue at the time of 4 hours after the work and age (p=0,005) has a relationship with the work fatigue at the time of 8 hours after the work.

This study aimed to document homeopathic prescriptions and clinical outcomes in an obstetrics and gynecology outpatient setting in India over 3 months. Data were collected on 429 patients with 434 medical conditions. The most common conditions treated were leucorrhea, irregular menses, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, and hypomenorrhea. Overall, 61% of outcomes were positive, 20.8% negative, and 18.2% showed no change. A quantitative descriptive research design was used to assess the impact of menstruation on academic performance among female nursing students of GNM Ist year at Rohilkhand School of nursing, Bareilly, UP. 50 female nursing students of GNM Ist year were selected through convenient sampling technique. The data were collected by assessment checklist of menstrual symptoms and academic performance. The result showed that28 56 were heavy abdomen cramp during menstruation, 34 68 students were getting anger during their periods,27 54 were having sleep disturbance, 36 72 were reported that they had pelvic pain, 32 64 students were having fatigue tiredness and 28 56 students having irritability during menstruation. The academic performance findings shows that 29 58 were not having interest to go to the college during menstruation33 66 were said that they had a feeling of hesitation to go for practical classes, 27 54 were not having interest to write their examination during menstruation, 28 66 were not able to complete their assignment in time and 26 52 students were having feeling of inferiority during menstruation. There was significant association between menstrual symptoms of abdominal cramps, anger, sleep disturbance, pelvic pain, fatigue, irritability, forgetfulness, headache, generalized body ache, loss of appetite, nausea vomiting, mood swings, breast tenderness and constipation with their selected baseline data of marital status, duration of menstrual cycle, regularity of menstruation, experience of menstrual symptoms and treatment of menstrual discomfort. The study concluded that that the menstrual symptoms having a major impact on academic performance of female students. Perceived self-efficacy was also found to predict using dental floss once daily or more. In India, Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI) including Sexually transmitted Diseases (STDs) produce a huge disease burden. Nursing staff plays a major role in prevention of STI/RTIs. So this study was conducted aimed to know the knowledge about STIs/RTIs of nursing personnel of a tertiary care hospital of Rajasthan. 100 nursing professionals were supervised for practice and interrogated for attitude and knowledge as per a semi- structured schedule. It was found that overall mean score of nurses was 56% and only 52% had scores passing marks (>50%). Although this knowledge about STI/RTI was not found to be associated religion, caste, type of family and socio-economic status but it was found to be associated with sex, marital status and education of nurses. It was also found in this study that gap of training decreases the knowledge and number of training increases the knowledge. It was found to be associated with department where the nurses were working. So all the nurses irrespective of place of posting should be given refresher trainings at regular intervals.

This research is quantitative research with cross sectional design research obtained by using the technique of sampling means that 28 nurses. Linier regression test results revealed that the work load (p=0,001) has a relationship with the work fatigue at the time of 4 hours after the work and age (p=0,005) has a relationship with the work fatigue at the time of 8 hours after the work.

This study aimed to document homeopathic prescriptions and clinical outcomes in an obstetrics and gynecology outpatient setting in India over 3 months. Data were collected on 429 patients with 434 medical conditions. The most common conditions treated were leucorrhea, irregular menses, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, and hypomenorrhea. Overall, 61% of outcomes were positive, 20.8% negative, and 18.2% showed no change. Background: Nursing education contains both theoretical and practical training processes. Clinical training is the
basis of nursing education. The quality of clinical training is closely related to the quality of the clinical learning
environment.
Objectives: This study aimed to determine the transfer of theoretical knowledge into clinical practice by nursing
students and the difficulties they experience during this process.
Methods: A qualitative research design was used in the study. The study was conducted in 2015 with 30 nursing
students in a university located in the east of Turkey, constituting three focus groups. The questions directed to
the students during the focus group interviews were as follows: What do you think about your clinical training?
How do you evaluate yourself in the process of putting your theoretical knowledge into clinical practice? What
kind of difficulties are you experiencing in clinical practices?
Results: The data were interpreted using the method of content analysis. Most of the students reported that
theoretical information they received was excessive, their ability to put most of this information into practice
was weak, and they lacked courage to touch patients for fear of implementing procedures incorrectly. As a result
of the analysis of the data, five main themes were determined: clinical training, guidance and communication,
hospital environment and expectations.
Conclusions: The results of this study showed that nursing students found their clinical knowledge and skills
insufficient and usually failed to transfer their theoretical knowledge into clinical practices. The study observed
that nursing students experienced various issues in clinical practices. In order to fix these issues and achieve an
effective clinical training environment, collaboration should be achieved among nursing instructors, nurses,
nursing school and hospital managements.
Additionally, the number of nursing educators should be increased and training programs should be provided
regarding effective clinical training methods.

This study aimed to determine how nursing students transfer theoretical knowledge to clinical practice and the difficulties they experience. The researchers conducted focus group interviews with 30 nursing students. The students reported that their theoretical knowledge was extensive but they struggled to apply it clinically. They lacked clinical skills and were afraid to touch patients from a fear of making mistakes. The students also reported not receiving adequate guidance from instructors in clinical settings. Some instructors were too distant or strict, making students hesitant to ask questions. Communication problems were also experienced with some nurses and clinical instructors who did not cooperate with students.

This document summarizes a study that examined the relationship between sport, self-efficacy, and tendency toward addiction in teenagers. The study involved 310 high school students in Iran who were given questionnaires before and after a 7-session sport intervention program based on Pender's health promotion model. The results showed that tendencies toward addiction decreased significantly after the intervention, while self-efficacy and participation in sports increased significantly. A positive correlation was found between increases in self-efficacy and sports participation and decreases in tendency toward addiction. The study concludes that sport and improved self-efficacy can reduce teenagers' risk of addiction.

This document describes a study that compared the effects of traditional teaching methods versus problem-based integrated teaching (PBIT) on second year medical students learning about bronchial asthma. Students were randomly divided into a control group that received traditional teaching and a study group that received PBIT. Scores on pre- and post-tests showed that students in the PBIT group had significantly greater improvements in knowledge compared to the control group. Feedback from students and faculty also indicated majority support and preference for the PBIT approach over traditional methods. The study concluded that PBIT is more effective for teaching and helping students develop clinical understanding compared to traditional fragmented teaching.

Introduction:The present study was aimed to assess the awareness, knowledge, and attitude towards basic life support (BLS) among the dental students and faculty of Al Azhar dental college. Materials and Methods:A descriptive study was conducted by using a Questionnaire comprising of 20 questions to collect the data pertaining to awareness and knowledge of BLS, attitude towards BLS among the 3rd, final year dental students and the faculty members. After excluding the incomplete response sheets which were none in the present study, the data from 212 members were subjected to the analysis. The Main outcome measure was the over all score in the BLS knowledge. Knowledge of BLS was assessed as per the data contained in the Basic life support manual from American Heart Association. Results: Out of 212 members 109 were 3rd year students and 85 were final year students and 18 faculty members. The overall knowledge score was 33.7%. Overall results were poor with less than minimum knowledge on the topic BLS. A score of less than 50% was evident in the study indicating a poor knowledge of BLS among both the students and the faculty.The range of correct answers were 3-11 among students and 4-6 among the staffs. A significant difference (p<0.05) was observed between students and faculty members. Conclusion: Present study reports just 33.7 % participants had knowledge regarding BLS necessitates immediate attention of training of dental students and faculties regarding BLS.

Questionnaire method of data collection was adopted. Job satisfaction was measured by six domains: Organizational functioning, Interpersonal relationship, Financial incentives, Non-financial incentives, Physical facilities and Working conditions. Study observed that over all, doctors were moderately satisfied with their job. Domains such as Interpersonal relationship and Working conditions, doctors were highly satisfied, whereas rest of the domains: Organizational functioning, Financial incentives, Non-financial incentives, and Physical facilities doctors were moderately satisfied. It is important to note that even though overall satisfaction is moderate, there were few components, where doctors were highly satisfied were - Communication system between patients and doctors, Involvement in decision making in the department, Rules and regulations of the institution, relationship between the department colleagues and other department colleagues, Provision for leave encashment, reward given for research work, workload of clinical aspect and workload of teaching aspect. Age and sex both shown significant association on level of satisfaction where as experience, designation and marital status of the doctors have not shown significant association.

Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out in Gazipur Sadar Hospital of Bangladesh. Results: The results showed that poor knowledge level among healthcare personnel excluding doctors. Besides, no black colour coding bin was found in the hospital. Regarding practices and attitude related with waste management, housekeeping staffs ignored the standard operating procedures. Conclusion: It can be concluded from the present study that poor levels of knowledge, practices and attitude regarding biomedical waste management in Gazipur, Bangladesh. Lack of adequate knowledge impedes the waste management.
This study aimed to assess professional satisfaction among nursing graduates from BPKIHS in Nepal from 1996-2004. It found that graduates were most satisfied with status/security/respect (75%) and least satisfied with working conditions (54%). Satisfaction increased with age but did not differ based on gender, residence, or other factors. Suggestions to improve satisfaction included more supervision, continuing education, and encouraging further study. The study concluded that despite challenges, graduates were moderately satisfied with nursing overall.

This study assessed the attitudes and perceptions of post-graduate medical residents toward completing a research thesis during their residency training. The study surveyed 125 residents across clinical and pre-clinical specialties. The majority of residents preferred observational studies over interventional studies for their thesis work. Most residents agreed that completing a thesis helped develop important research skills. However, residents also identified barriers like inadequate research facilities, study tools, and support staff. The study concluded that addressing barriers like lack of time, funding, and research infrastructure could help improve residents' attitudes toward completing their required theses.
The study aimed to assess professional satisfaction among nursing graduates from BPKIHS from 1996-2004. A survey was administered to 50 graduates, with the majority being female and aged 22-25. The highest satisfaction was with status/respect (75%) while the lowest was with working conditions (54%). Most felt there was job security (54%) and opportunity to help others (52%) in nursing. Relationship between nurse unit managers' motivation and theirhalay
This study aimed to assess the relationship between nurse unit managers' motivation and their performance management in three hospitals in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. A sample of 60 nurse unit managers completed questionnaires assessing their motivation and performance management. The results found a highly statistically significant correlation between motivation and performance management. Motivation was also found to significantly differ between the hospitals. The study concluded that motivation through factors like drive, control, relationships, challenges and rewards can effectively motivate nurse unit managers and positively impact their performance management.

2) A total of 126 students were surveyed using a structured questionnaire to assess their social, academic, and personal adjustment.
3) The results found that 73.8% of 1st year students reported being adjusted, while 26.2% reported being well adjusted. 97.6% of 2nd year students reported being adjusted and 2.4% reported being well adjusted. 95.2% of 3rd year students reported being adjusted and 2.4% reported being well adjusted.

Endoprosthesis replacement-operational treatment of diseases and damages of hip joint. The problem of prevention of complications and their negative effects is extremely actual today. However the role of different beam techniques in identification of adverse effects and complications of endoprosthesis replacement of joints is studied insufficiently. Results of clinic and diagnostic and beam researches of 40 patients with pathology of hip joint are analyzed. The used beam methods of research - roentgenography, multispiral computed tomography. At presurgical stage the main objective was detection of pathology of joint, definition of indications and planning of operative measure. Situation and relationship of components of endoprosthesis, condition of bone tissue, and also bone cement round cup and leg of prosthesis were key parameters of radiological assessment of outcomes of endoprosthesis replacement. From the perspective of activity theory, it can be argued that the major challenge in relation to
implementing interprofessional education (IPE) could be embraced as contradictions that may lead to
change. Patients have complex health needs and typically require insight from more than one discipline to
address issues regarding their health status (Lumague et al. 2006). The World Health Organization
(WHO) recommends that institutions engaged in health professional education and training consider
implementing IPE in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs (WHO, 2010). The purpose of this
study was to identify the needs of IPECP for health care professionals, faculty members, and students.
Methods: The survey instrument contained four scales to evaluate faculty attitudes toward IPE and
teamwork, adapted from the methods of Curran et al. (2007). Each scale asked respondents to rate their
attitudes toward statements on a 5-point Likert scale (1=strongly disagree; 2=disagree; 3=neutral;
4=agree; 5=strongly agree). The initial factor extractions were performed by means of principal
components analysis. To define the model structure more clearly, an exploratory factor analysis using
varimax rotation was conducted. The level of significance was p<.0001 for all tests. Results: As shown in
Table 2, the Kaiser–Meyer-Olkin index was 0.902, indicating sampling adequacy, and the Bartlett
Sphericity Chi-Square index was 2246.5 (p <0.0001). Cronbach’s alpha for the 14 items was 0.731,
revealing a high rate of internal consistency. The modified Attitude toward health care team scores
(ATHCTS) questionnaire was categorized into four factors: “Quality of care,” “Team efficiency,”
“Patient-centered care,” and “Negative factors.” Conclusion: Findings suggest that the positive attitude of
health care professionals, faculty members and students towards IPE indicates the need for IPE training.

1. INTRODUCTION
Interprofessional education occurs when students from two or more professions learn about,
from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes (WHO, 2010).
Once students understand how to work across professions, they are ready to enter the workplace as
members of the collaborative practice team (Gilbert, Yan et al. 2010). Interprofessional learners need to
learn and practice how to collaborate across professions using an interprofessional team perspective so
that they can provide quality of care, while still assuming their profession-specific roles (Khalili, Orchard

et al. 2013). Interprofessional education enables the baccalaureate graduate to enter the workplace with
baseline competencies and confidence for interactions and communication skills, that will improve
practice, thus yielding better patient outcomes. Interprofessional education optimizes opportunities for the
development of respect and trust for other members of the health care team (Buring, Bhushan et al. 2009).
By strengthening the evidence base, the Gunma University committee hopes to encourage stronger
partnerships among educators, researchers, practitioners, patients, families, and communities.
Accordingly, the paper initially discusses micro (individual level), meso (institutional/organizational
level), and macro (socio-cultural and political level) factors that can influence the success of an IPE
initiative (Oandasan and Reeves 2005). Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS) is
located in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city, and consists of 10 branches schools: the School of Medicine, the
School of Biomedicine, the School of Dentistry, the School of Public Health, the School of International
Mongolian Traditional Medical, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Nursing, the Darkhan-Uul
Medical College, the Dornogobi Medical College, the Gobi-Altai Medical College. The MNUMS offers
education for 13 health professions: medical doctor, pharmacy, biomedical researcher, public health
researcher, traditional medical doctor, social worker, health informatics, nurse, midwifery, physical
therapists, occupational therapists and medical equipment technicians. It is a National University and the
only institution to education health professionals in Mongolia. This study is ground breaking by first
comparing approaches to IPE for faculty members, health professionals and students. The study further
identifies the need for implementing the IPE system, which is important in terms of empowering faculty,
students and graduates to provide client-centered, quality care. The purpose of this study was to identify
the needs of IPE for health professionals, faculty members and students.
2. METHODS STUDY DESIGN
The present cross-sectional study was designed as a descriptive investigation. The survey
instrument contained four scales to evaluate the attitudes of faculty members, health professionals and
students toward IPE and teamwork, adapted from the methods of Curran et al. (2007). Each scale asked
respondents to rate their attitudes towards statements on a 5-point Likert scale (1=strongly disagree;
2=disagree; 3=neutral; 4=agree; 5=strongly agree). The initial factor extractions were performed by
means of principal components analysis. To define the structure of the model more clearly, an exploratory
factor analysis using varimax rotation was conducted. The level of significance was p<.0001 for all tests.
3. STUDY POPULATION
The study population consisted of faculty members from the Mongolian National University of
Medical Sciences (MNUMS) (91 faculty members). These 91 faculty members came from the following
faculties: School of Medicine (18 faculty members), School of Nursing (9 faculty members), School of
Pharmacy (4 faculty members), School of Public (8 faculty members), School of Traditional Medicine (3
students), School of Biomedicine (24 faculty members), School of Dentistry (5 students), School of
Medicine of Darkhan - Uul province (7 faculty members), School of Medicine of Dornogobi province (7
faculty members), and School of Medicine of Gobi-Altai province (7 faculty members). A further 443
students from the MNUMS School of Medicine were surveyed. These participants included 195 medical
doctor’s students (60 in their fourth year, 66 in their fifth year and 69 in their sixth year). From the
MNUMS School of Nursing, 25 students were surveyed from Midwifery (including 12 from their third
year and 13 from their fourth year), 68 students from Nursing (34 from their third year and 34 from their
fourth year), 12 from physical therapiest’s students (6 from their third year and 6 from their fourth year),
4 from occupational therapiest’s students (2 from their third year and 2 from their fourth year). From the
School of Public, 15 social workers students were surveyed (7 from their third year and 8 from their
fourth year), as well as 18 Public Health researchers’s students (8 from their fourth year and 10 from their
fifth year). From the School of Traditional Medical Doctor, 20 students were surveyed (8 from their
fourth year and 12 from their fifth year). In the School Biomedicine, 15 students were surveyed (12 from
their fourth year and 3 from their fifth year). 7 students from the Health informatics department’s students
were also surveyed (one person in their third year and six students in their fourth year). From the School
of Dentistry, 36 students (17 in their fourth year and 19 in their fifth year) were surveyed. Finally, a
number of Mongolian health care professionals (graduates of MNUMS 611) in the hospitals of centers
and districts were included in this study (namely, 217 medical doctors, 316 nurses, 16 midwives, 21
pharmacologists and 41 administrations specialists).

4. SURVEY INSTRUMENT
The survey was composed of a respondent characteristics section, a 14-item Likert scale to
measure attitudes toward interprofessional health care teams (Curran et al. 2007), a 15-item Likert scale
to assess attitudes toward IPE (Curran et al. 2007), a 13-item Likert scale to assess attitudes toward
interprofessional learning in an academic setting (Curran et al. 2007) and a 10-item Likert scale to assess
barriers to IPE in an academic setting (Gardner et al. 2002). Responses were provided on a five-point
Likert scale from one (strongly disagree) to five (strongly agree), in accordance with Curran et al. (2007).
Authors who passed the 1st level of the Japanese Language proficiency test translated the English and
Japanese versions of the Attitudes toward health care team score (ATHCTS) questionnaire into
Mongolian.
5. STUDY PROCEDURE
This study was conducted in the 2019 academic year. During the first term, an attitudinal survey
was administered to the faculty members, health professionals, and students. The survey was supervised
by the professors responsible for each class. Survey responses were always confidential and names and
other identifying information were removed.
6. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS
Data combined from faculty members, health professionals and students at MNUMS were
analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 23.OJ. The scale was subjected to
exploratory factor analysis to examine the underlying constructs of the survey. The suitability of the
correlation matrix was determined by the Kaiser–Meyer-Olkin estimate of sampling adequacy and
Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity. The number of factors retained for the initial solutions and entered into the
rotations was determined by application of Kaiser’s criterion (Eigenvalues >1). The initial factor
extractions were performed by means of principal component analysis. To clearly define the structure, an
exploratory factor analysis using varimax rotation was conducted. The level of significance was set at 5%
for all tests.
7. ETHICS
This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Mongolian National University of Medical
Sciences (MNUMS) (Approval number №8/3/2019-6-21) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
8. RESULTS DEMOGRAPHICS OF RESPONDENTS
The survey was completed by 19.8% of the faculty members from the Medical School,
(MNUMS), 9.8% of the faculty members from the Nursing School, (MNUMS), 26.4% of the faculty
members from the Biomedical School, (MNUMS), 4.3% of the faculty members from the Pharmacy
School, (MNUMS), 8.7% of the faculty members from the Public Health School, (MNUMS) 3.0% of the
faculty members from the Traditional Medical School, (MNUMS) 5.3% of the faculty members from the
Dentist School, (MNUMS) 7.6% of the faculty members from Darkhan’s Medical School, (MNUMS)
7.6% of the faculty members from Dornogobi’s Medical School, (MNUMS) and 7.6% of the faculty
members from Gobi-Altai’s Medical School, (MNUMS).
In terms of the surveys completed by health professionals, 35.51% of the medical doctors, 51.71% of the
nurses, 2.61% of the midwives, 3.43% of the pharmacologists and 6.69% of the administration staff in
hospitals in Ulaanbaatar, (Mongolia) completed the survey.
For the surveys completed by students, 12.3% of respondents were male students and 87.7%
were female students. 44% were physician students, 6.5% were pharmacology students, 5.7% were
midwifery students, 15.4% were nursing students, 2.8% were PT students, 0.9% were OT students, 3.4%
were social worker students, 4.1% were traditional physician students, 3.4% were biomedical students,
8.1% were dentistry students, 4.1% were public health research students, and 1.6% were health
informatics students at MNUMS. The respondents’ demographic information is shown in Tables 1, 2, and
3.
9. OVERALL MODIFIED MEAN SCORES
As shown in Table 4, the overall modified ATHCTS mean score of faculty members, health care
professionals and students was significantly positive (3.92±0.70 vs 3.75±0.93 vs 3.87±1.03, p<0.0001).

The modified mean scores of attitudes towards interprofessional education was also significantly positive
for faculty members, health care professionals and students (4.07±0.66 vs 3.93±1.1 vs 4.05±1.0,
p<0.0001). Overall, mean scores for modified attitudes towards interprofessional learning in an academic
setting was significantly positive of faculty members than health care professionals and students
(3.8±0.73 vs 3.74±1.08 vs 3.72±1.46, p<0.0001). Finally, overall modified barriers to IPE in the academic
setting mean scores on behalf of faculty members, health professionals and students was significantly
positive (3.51±0.89 vs 3.4±0.84 vs 3.42±0.87, p<0.0001).
10. EXPLORATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS
The Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin index was 0.902, indicating sampling adequacy, and the Bartlett
Sphericity Chi-Square index was 2246.5 (p < 0.001). Accordingly, the null hypothesis that the correlation
matrix was an identity matrix and thus, the data was unsuitable for factor analysis was convincingly
rejected. Cronbach’s alpha of the 14-item modified ATHCTS was 0.765, revealing a high rate of internal
consistency. The modified ATHCTS questionnaire was categorized into the following three subscales:
“Quality of care delivery,” “Patient-centered care,” and “Team efficiency” with Cronbach’s alpha
measures of 0.767, 0.533, and 0.427, respectively, as shown in Table 5.
11. DISCUSSION

respectively. Lee, B., F. Celletti, T. Makino, H. Matsui, and H. Watanabe reported the findings from this
survey suggested that faculty members, health care professionals and students have positive attitudes
toward IPE (Lee, Celletti et al. 2012). Gary L., B. Dallaghan, E. Hoffman, E. Lyden and C. Bevil
reported a key lesson learned from this study is that, even with modest resources and modest progress
towards IPE, an assessment can serve as a starting point from which to launch and engage faculty for
further IPE initiatives (Gary et al. 2017). Importantly, factors that may influence undergraduates’
attitudes to interprofessional learning need to be studied. This includes the potential influence of
academic or institutional culture on students’ attitude to IPE and motivation-to-learn (Vandergoot, Sarris
et al. 2018). Three factors were obtained from the factor analysis of the modified ATHCTS. As shown in
Table 5, the fundamental structure of the two factors was same as that of the original ATHCTS reported
previously (Hyer 2000). In terms of IPE evaluation, the findings also highlight the importance of
measuring baseline attitudinal constructs as part of systematic evaluative activities when introducing new
IPE initiatives within academic settings (Vernon R Curran 2007). In contrast, the more positive attitudes
of deans of nursing schools with IPE courses and those of schools in rural areas are in line with global
attitudes (Takatoshi Makino 2015). The modified ATHCTS questionnaire was categorized into the
following three subscales: “Quality of care delivery,” “Patient-centered care,” and “Team efficiency,”
with Cronbach’s alpha measures of 0.76, 0.53, and 0.42, respectively. The factor solutions obtained in
this study correspond well to a previous study by Takatoshi et al. (2017).
12. LIMITATIONS
This study’s main limitation is that it was a cross-sectional study. To further investigate this
issue, future studies with pre-post or longitudinal study designs will be needed. In addition, an ideal study
design involving a target population with the same composition might be needed in the future. Finally, in
the future, we face the need to develop experimental studies in order to produce objective evidence-based
conclusions.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the findings suggest that the positive attitude of health professionals, faculty
members and students towards IPE indicates the need for IPE training. Further development of a program
to implement the IPE Training Methods is needed.
