Introduction
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
E-HRM; E-HRM is an interchangeable term coined with HR
Information System (HRIS), virtual HR (M), web-based HRM, and
intranet-based HRM.
The intersection between web- based technology and human resources
SMEs; In Ireland, SMEs are defined as enterprises with less than 250
persons engaged in that enterprise (CSO, 2011).
Irish Examiner (2014) states that approximately 30% of SMEs have
hopes of increasing their workforce between now and the end of the
year.
Thus there is a need of E-HRM
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
Objectives
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
To find out how e-HRM is beneficial to SMEs
To examine if e-HRM adds value to the HR functions to the traditional HRM or
not
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
Methods of Research
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
A quantitative, non-experimental study (Survey) is used
to test the hypothesis proposed.
Questionnaire developed based on hypothesis.
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
Data Collection
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
The selection was targeted to reach at least 200 HR persons but
only 85 HR persons were contacted.
Out of 85 HR persons from 35SMEs only 60 responded
70.6% of response rate
Questionnaires were distributed and collected by agent.

Data Analysis
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
Majority of the respondents in the survey have diploma.
The experiences of those with 1-5 years and those more than 5 years are
added together they are much higher than those with less than 1 year
experience.
It is amazing to see that more than 90% of the respondents confirmed that
they use E-HRM.

Conclusion
E-HRM in Irish SMEs
In perceived ease of use of E-HRM the respondents have
given the highest score of 4.85 to inflexibility of the
application.
In term of user support analysis with 4.27 score people have
given a thumps up that it makes the quicker and thus is time
saving .
With 4.63 score respondents say that E-HRM system helps
in the development of HR processes.
Respondents strongly believe that E-HRM is a better
performer than the traditional HRM system that’s the reason
the average score for this statement is 4.27.

  • 4. E-HRM in Irish SMEs E-HRM; E-HRM is an interchangeable term coined with HR Information System (HRIS), virtual HR (M), web-based HRM, and intranet-based HRM. The intersection between web- based technology and human resources SMEs; In Ireland, SMEs are defined as enterprises with less than 250 persons engaged in that enterprise (CSO, 2011). Irish Examiner (2014) states that approximately 30% of SMEs have hopes of increasing their workforce between now and the end of the year. Thus there is a need of E-HRM

  • 6. E-HRM in Irish SMEs To find out how e-HRM is beneficial to SMEs To examine if e-HRM adds value to the HR functions to the traditional HRM or not

  • 8. E-HRM in Irish SMEs A quantitative, non-experimental study (Survey) is used to test the hypothesis proposed. Questionnaire developed based on hypothesis.

  • 10. E-HRM in Irish SMEs The selection was targeted to reach at least 200 HR persons but only 85 HR persons were contacted. Out of 85 HR persons from 35SMEs only 60 responded 70.6% of response rate Questionnaires were distributed and collected by agent.

  • 12. E-HRM in Irish SMEs Majority of the respondents in the survey have diploma. The experiences of those with 1-5 years and those more than 5 years are added together they are much higher than those with less than 1 year experience. It is amazing to see that more than 90% of the respondents confirmed that they use E-HRM.

  • 14. E-HRM in Irish SMEs In perceived ease of use of E-HRM the respondents have given the highest score of 4.85 to inflexibility of the application. In term of user support analysis with 4.27 score people have given a thumps up that it makes the quicker and thus is time saving . With 4.63 score respondents say that E-HRM system helps in the development of HR processes. Respondents strongly believe that E-HRM is a better performer than the traditional HRM system that’s the reason the average score for this statement is 4.27.
